    Tesco Folding Hopper 20" e-Bike

trying to help There is almost zero information on the Tesco website about this bike. Having said that it looks exactly the same as the Viking E GO, same gears as well. I'm guessing they are both from same factory somewhere in China Viking EGo Folding 2012 EBike : Bikes | Mountain Bikes |...

Use led light for warning signal

my electrical skills are up to very little as well. All I can add is that I ran two similar strips of maybe 10 LED each off a 9v battery. They were rated 12v but were still perfectly bright at 9v I placed them on my backpack for extra visilbilty in winter. I just bought a 9v battery holder...

    What tyres do I buy?

Martahon plus are very good and I've always used them. However, about a year ago I switched to Continetal Travel Contacts Have to say I prefer these as they seem just as bullet proof but the grip on wet roads is superior without question. Braking at the bottom of hills on wet roads is not the...

    Helmets

Had to look that up - bit before my time :) They sure are ugly though. Some of these are really pretty.....but I fully accept I am an absolute sucker for wood. There is a chap in the states who makes really lovely mudgaurds out of various woods as well. The walnut on maple one for me please...

Gears, How Many is Too Many?

essentially, what he said ^ ! (flecc) . Peronally I have become a little evangelical on the alfine 8 hub. It is utterly bullet proof, never misses a beat, chnage when stationary. All this for a little extra weight..........which matters even less on an ebike. Also one less lever on the handle...

    Suspension seatposts

For reference I have used this every working day on my commuter for a year (about 7 miles). It has not stuck or developed any side play/wiggle whatsoever I am 11.5 stone and I belive the medium MCU that it comes with could easily take another 2/3 stone you know what, I've convicned myself...

    Suspension seatposts

Blimey - at that price its cheaper than a lot of non-sus posts. I'd say just buy it - if you dont like it then ebay it for no/little money lost ! Certainly worth a a try if you cycle on roads before throwing a ton at a thudbuster (which whilst certainly will do the job is probably overkill)

    Suspension seatposts

You cant beat the Thudbuster IMHO but its very pricey Depends what you need it for. If you generally just want to take the buzz and bumps out of the road then I'd recommned the Post Moderne Cushy SL which is 20 to 25quid. I have one on my road bike and find it great. Wouldnt place it on an...

Front wheel motor on a light singlespeed bike?

well the OP talks about a single speed mountain bike.....hence I was a little confused as to what he/she actually is seeking to achieve. If its a MTB that is simply being used on the road (i.e has MTB forks) then any of the bigger motors should be fine EDIT crossed with FLecc

Front wheel motor on a light singlespeed bike?

Yep no reason it can't work. Cytronex do a single speed (or they did anyway) Kits are more troublesome as there really is only the tongxin motor that does the superlightweight, stealth assist thing. This is the motor used by Cytonex Generally your other motor choices are be heavier (but...

    Folding and quick release pedals

I've used mks folders in the past and generally am a big fan of mks pedals . They are very well made and usually will outlast the bike you put them on This is not to say Juicys are no good. I just have no experience of them

    Friction free dynamo light

Great as a backup I'd have thought cwah. I'm a big believer in bright lights, especially in cities, and I just suspect the output of these isnt much to write home about

well, you could try http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/humpert-ahs-superlight-adjustable-handlebars-580-mm-wide-254-mm-clamp-prod24406/ perhaps not as elegant but at least you can actually buy 'em !

    halfords/ebco

I should state first that I dont know, i can only guess They used to stock Urban Mover which I belive got into financial troubles and got bought by Hero Perhaps this corporate action invalidated the contracts between UM and Halfords and they took the opportunity to try and get better...

    Convert a Pashley Guvnor

I didnt want to rain on your parade initially but have to agree with the "dont do it!" I love the retro look myself (my retro bike is an On One pompetamine in cream with swept back bars, 8 hub gears, honey leather saddle ,grips, toe clips etc) Very nice bikes, British company and good...

    Convert a Pashley Guvnor

they do a few versions of the Guvnor. Is yours the 3 speed hub (sturmey archer) ? Assuming it is then you have a few challenges and options. Firstly a rear hub drive is out of the question as your current hub contains your gears. So you'll need a front drive system - search this site for more...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Hi Jerry Have you already put an order in ? I'd be really keen to chip into it and add a motor/contoller/throttle for myself. Would this makes things cheaper for you/us in terms of shipping ? Also you have the expertise in dealing with China which I dont at all so I'm clearly keen to...
