Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

finger trouble is apparently early sign of senility. Thank you oldtom.

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

it's clear that a full power throttle is a desirable feature. it seems to me that vendors that have bikes without throttle or bikes with only starting aid would like to make the most of this change in law. I can't honestly see how the police would go after an e-biker with a full throttle post...

What kits can be fitted to a road bike.

I can see why you hesitate. That Defy 5 is a beauty, if you've got it new, a bit too nice to be converted.

    jOULES MICRO PRISM

Can you test ride before buying? otherwise, you may have to take a chance on this - batteries can last 4 years if used regularly.

    jOULES MICRO PRISM

Joules have been around for a few years but your guarantee is with the vendor. If you don't buy directly from Joules then there is less certainty, you may need to clarify the terms of guarantee with the vendor. The electrical side is fairly standard, the bike can be fixed by most trade members...

    Derestricting a Woosh Karoo

that manual is wrong. On the bike I rode, the LCD lets me go up 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 40km/h max.

Looking to buy Specialised Turbo. Can i have it re flashed?

This is from the badass dongle's website: it's clear enough for me, you can use your bike in your garden, on your farm etc - fitting a dongle does not affect the CE marking on the bike.

Looking to buy Specialised Turbo. Can i have it re flashed?

don't you over dramatize a bit? the bike is CE marked, the dongle is CE marked and made for the bike. Fitting the dongle to the bike does not automatically void both CE labels.

BionX - The eBike World Champions 2015

Very competent direct drive kit but quite overpriced. You should note that the D350 (I think that's the one fitted into your Smart 250W) given torque is 40NM max, 10NM nominal. The Bosch Performance and Yamaha motors have twice that and cost about half the BionX price.

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

the problem I see is that the Smart e-bike has quite a lot of custom parts. That means difficult to fix after the warranty runs out. Smart Ebiker said earlier that his first bike was DOA. Apparently the box was not PDI'ed before he collected or left in storage too long, he got a new model the...

    confusing claims

The motor power rating has negligible effect on the power consumption on flat roads. It's a torque sensor bike, you have to input the difference between what the bike needs to move and what the battery gives. I think the range is given in optimal conditions with speed at around 12mph-13mph, no...

Warranty is good only in shop where you buy the bike

woosh warranty is transferrable and the company is the sole warranty handler, even when the bike is sold by their agents. That's the only way to solve rapidly any issue.

    Bike to work e-bike

Hannah, for your £1,000 budget, 34 miles trip 3 times a week, 5,000 miles a year in all weather, not many bikes will make it. Mike63 does a similar mileage. He bought a Woosh Sirocco CD a couple of years ago, then changed it for a Kalkhoff Sahel Premium i360 last year then changed it recently...

    going round in circles

what did they weigh it with? ask anyone who's got one of them to tell you. Here is the ewayfarer: and here is the Gale: spot the difference. Hatti says the Gale weighs 23kgs because she weighs the bike herself.

    going round in circles

There is not much difference in weight. They are made with similar components. All the aluminium Chinese 20" folders with battery behind seat post weigh about 21kgs - 22kgs with battery. You've got to convert a Dahon folding bike to cut down a couple of kgs.
