    Dyson versus the EU

The Eurozone does indeed seem to favour Germany over its fellow Euro-using countries - however the Eurozone is not the EU. What other examples were you thinking of? I think if you are equating lobbying with corruption, then that is with all due respect not right. Government can't understand...

Is this folding 700c bike a good candidate for conversion?

Good call. Actually yes the roads my way are rotten, ironworks are excessively sunk as a rule, crumbling, you name it. Tbh the bike is mainly for exploring so that makes it even worse.

Is this folding 700c bike a good candidate for conversion?

I've got a 3kg SWXK 250w front and a 4.5kg Bafang CST "250w" rear. However I think the main purpose of the folder is for tourism in the UK and abroad, possibly involving long journeys. I've got quite a nice 700c commuter already thankfully. I've noticed that the Montague 700c folds much more...

Is this folding 700c bike a good candidate for conversion?

Thanks. I wondered if that might be the case. I could mod it for fatter tyres but it's mega faff. Shame. Oh well.

Is this folding 700c bike a good candidate for conversion?

It does have a rear disc mount but the main reason is I've got two 700c motor wheels built (this is virtually the only 700c folder available) and it seemed a good way of avoiding additional cost. Though I've started to research Dahon 26 inch bikes of which there seem a lot of used models...

    UKIP Manifesto

Interesting! Some probs with but will post later, having bit of RSI flare-up.

Just realised another advantage of disc brakes :)

Excellent - this is very good to know. Actually I have a bit of a problem gripping with my right hand sometimes. Wonder whether that means I need hydraulics.

Just realised another advantage of disc brakes :)

Yes it does. I think it's strange, both my present and a bike I've thought of buying both have rear mounts but not front.

    UKIP Manifesto

Do you think a dictatorship of the majority (as in ancient Greece) rather than of an elected parliament (as now) would make things any less dictatorial or incompetent?

Is this folding 700c bike a good candidate for conversion?

The 12.2kg Montague Urban. Here http://www.montaguefoldingbike.co.uk/uk/folding_bikes/pavement/urban Upside is light weight, battery can hang off downtube (here someone's done it http://www.bikefold.com/bionx-montague-electric-bikes/ ), folding capability obviously. Biggest downside is that...

Just realised another advantage of disc brakes :)

Are V-brakes enough for a rear 350w BPM on a 15a controller with 15mph max? Is a rear-only-disc-brake an option or just suicidal? I've had my rear wheel professionally laced up but stupidly had it done with a disc-brake-only rear rim. I wondered what the "D" stood for in the product name...

    Opinions Please.....?

For lightweight folder you could get a montague urban or similar (12kg)and put a woosh cst 250w kit on it, (6.5kg), although I worry about the narrowness of the wheels

Hopeful newbie with some difficult requirements!

Yes a bottle battery is what I'd fit if fitting a child seat - because of the lower centre of gravity.

    Wave Sped

54 miles at 28mph on a 576wh battery, yeah right. These crowd funding startups just can't help bullshitting everyone. It is a classic American design though. Bar the sloppy electric conversion.

    Requirement for Manufacturer's Plate

    Hey all.

Welcome Mehmet. Do you have a picture of the bicycle you are going to attach the kit to? Edited- The BBS systems as d8veh says may not fit - I think you are better off with a L-ion rather than a Lipo-based battery, (Eclipsebikes or Wooshbike are good places to supply, as they provide support...

    Touring: battery charging questions

To this idea that food and drink have to be bought in order to charge your kit I have one word: Starbucks. Buy a coffee and the place is yours til it shuts. You will need a more powerful charger than the ordinary 2 amp jobbies that come free with a battery though. Oh and libraries are good.

OXYDrive CST HT 36V 13Ah electric bike conversion kit

Aha - but. Bafang BPM and CST motors (the 160mm diameter versions) are, apparently, basically hill-devouring beasts which make mincemeat of ordinary 250w motors which one sees on most off-the-shelf hub bikes and almost all cheap kits. Apologies for the mixed metaphor.

    Bike thieves getting their comeuppance

That's great. A conversion too. Excellent. I'd be interested to know where you're allowed to leave the bike and what kind of lock they want you to have on it, & if there are any other restrictions. It's worth knowing just in case there are any exclusions. But for £10 that's pretty good going...

    Another London cyclist killed

I was in Blackfriars Crown Court on Tuesday to watch proceedings, and unintentionally ended up hearing HH Worsley ruling on admissibility of prior convictions concerning a tipper-lorry driver who had jumped a red light and killed a cyclist. This case...
