Need E-bike for traveling around the world!

I've thought a lot about a 16 or 20 inch for my travels, as they'd go well in the boot of a car or bus, or on a train, and maybe be terrific for tourism, but aren't they uncomfortable for long distances?

    Battery problems Bosch 400wh

Hi Arne, your battery should be the problem of the retailer (under your contract) or manufacturer (under your guarantee), not your financial problem, after only 10 months having paid good money for your bike. I don't know whether Norway matches the EU level of consumer protection, but if it...

    Woosh kits...

Yes, shipping of £7.99. Making Woosh £36.02 on the £314 package (and £37.02 on the £315 package you refer to) more expensive than Eclipse. Of course, plumping for a 13ah from Eclipse makes it even more affordable, £67.02 cheaper to be precise. Eclipse also sell additional chargers, which...

    Woosh kits...

Woosh don't include the price of their £25 compulsory charger which they insist everyone buy. It works out £36.02 more at Woosh for exactly the same thing, same charger, same battery, delivered. £66.02 more if one plumps for Eclipse's 13ah - see my post just above.

    Woosh kits...

Eclipse are not a little cheaper, they're massively cheaper! £269.99 + £7.99 (£277.98) including battery + charger + delivery, against Woosh's £289 + £25 (for compulsory charger they insist on you buying) (£314), that's £36.02 less! And they actually say they've got a 14.5ah (which is what it...

    Jeremy Clarkson Suspended

I know he's popular and makes lots of money for the BBC but that doesn't make him any less of an evil speeding-on-public-roads-celebrating **. There are moral facts, there is right and wrong, not just opinions. And that man has encouraged thousands of men with child-minds to go out and...

    Woosh kits...

Yes, they're perfectly pleasant and helpful, they don't answer their email 100% of the time but I think it's not deliberate.

    Lidl bike workstand 16/03/15

The pump and saddles look a cracking deal, but I checked and it looks like ebay has these stands or v similar for around the £27 mark incl p&p, so there's leisure to decide whether one wants one.

    Is this guy for real?

It's more that you attach it to your y-fronts via electrodes and it enables you to pedal twice as quickly. I mean come on, everyone knows that.

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

Have I misunderstood? I thought these locks just stopped the bike being taken apart, rather than stopped it being ridden?

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

Those locknuts look good for stopping anyone from disassembling a bike in the street but helpless to stop anyone grinding off the lock securing the bike to a bike rack and riding the bike away.

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

Sorry to hear that. From what I know you're in the most CCTV'd part of the most CCTV'd city of the most CCTV'd country in the world, and if you can convince the police to investigate properly, then that thief is toast. Although in truth it's probably some junkie. I also think that all...

    xiongda questions

I would go for an eclipsebikes battery as they're Samsung cells, in the UK (so well placed to help if there are any problems), and the best-priced by some way. And one can pay by credit card (unlike Chinese sellers who are more expensive after shipping and customs) which means more protection still.

    Ford launches e-bikes

That's interesting about the Honda. I think it's a good comparison with electric. Because as d8veh says the meaning of 250w is so difficult to pin down (compared with 50cc which has a clear meaning), the only parameter is the (vague) minimum durability (i.e. 'will tend not to melt if run at...

    Ford launches e-bikes

That's interesting, do you mean there's an efficiency plateau at 250w? What confuses me however is what that refers to - a 250w motor will often be using 500w or considerably more, and I gather the 250w label (where authentically measured) reflects a minimum rather than maximum continuous...

Thanks. Does the torch need any protection from the rain?

Which lights and Pannier Bags do you recommend

Thanks - I bought one which arrived today, and it's pretty great. Do you point the torch straight ahead or downward at the road to avoid dazzling drivers? Do you use constant, intermittent, or 'induce epilepsy' modes, and do you think it's likely the constant mode is considerably less visible...
