    Bike foldable and portable workstand

On one side, the plastic cup that goes over the hub nut or quick release, has a cut-out. It can be rotated downwards, so may be able to accommodate the wiring too. I can't test this theory out, so please don't take it as gospel that it will work. Maybe you could post back here when yours...

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

'' Don't worry. As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at precisely 88 miles an hour, the instant the lightning strikes the tower... everything will be fine! ''

    Bike foldable and portable workstand

I don't usually post reviews on products, unless I've been particularly impressed by them. This portable bike workstand fits into that category, and there are a number of reasons why I like it so much. I bought it from this vendor on eBay: Bike Portable Workstand At the time of creating...

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

Come on peeps, enough of this legal / illegal bore-fest.... AGAIN... Can we ban those two words in this thread please, as it's getting interesting ;)

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

This section is it Stalkingcat. Not many of us go for uber powerful beasts, usually around the 1000-2000 watt range. Maybe it's a British thing lol.

    Hydraulic brakes question

Done it :D The centering of the caliper method does work, but I noticed it wasn't as simple as squeezing the brake lever and tightening the two caliper bolts fully. When I was tightening the bolts on the rear caliper, the actually rotary motion of the bolt was causing the caliper to move...

    Hydraulic brakes question

Front one centered like a dream. Rear still rubbing a bit, but I've not ridden this very far yet, so might bed in after a few miles. Wheel still spins fine though and I'll not notice the noise out on the tracks :)

    Hydraulic brakes question

You must have missed the earlier post d8veh. It's a Ridgeback 604LX, nothing special, but it feels pretty robust from the short trip I took around the block. About the same quailty as my Specialized Hardrock, but with the bonus of hydraulic brakes. Basically, it ticked all the right boxes for...

    Hydraulic brakes question

Support lol. Fully set up lol. The bike was meant to come fully set up. I don't mind doing it myself as I get to know the bike better from doing so. When the bike comes with a big list of pre delivery jobs that have been ticked off, but clearly not done, then that kinda pisses me off a little...

    Hydraulic brakes question

Ridgeback 604LX. Came with generic manual, but also separate instructions for the Tektro HDC300 brake system.

    Hydraulic brakes question

Ok thanks. The bike came with instructions for centering the caliper to the rotor, so will give that a try this afternoon :)

    Hydraulic brakes question

Just got a new bike with Tektro hydraulic brakes. When giving the wheels a good spin, they sound like the brake pads are rubbing on the discs slightly. They don't appear to be binding though. I'm thinking that they are similar to car disc brake systems, where the pads lightly rub the disc...

    wierd power problem

I'm guessing you have a battery that slots downwards behind the seatpost, into the docking base. These do have issues with the contacts opening up after a period of time, but you could also try spraying a cotton bud with contact cleaner, or dip the end in some vodka, and giving the contact...

    Basic bike work stand suitability?

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I've gone ahead and ordered the one from my first post: Bike hub folding repair stand Not because it is the cheapest, but I feel all I really need is something to lift the rear wheel a few inches off the ground, to allow me to turn the crank. In the past I've...

    Basic bike work stand suitability?

That looks suspiciously like other ones that quote a max weight of 20kg. Couldn't see any max weight figures in the link description. Did you get the actual figure from the box that it came in? I'm not trying to challenge you JamesW, just don't want something that will collapse when testing at...
