Charging Lipo from an inverter. Any expereince?

The OP is asking whether his charger will work with a modified sign wave from an inverter. I would guess yes. A modified sign wave is like a square wave, but with a short pause at 0v. This means that it sort of behaves a bit like a sine, in that there is a time period from max + to max -...

What's the best maintenance free bike?

For low maintenance, look for hub gears, with back pedal brake. Virtually maintenance free. Of course you will now need a front hub motor or crank drive. I find that good quality rim brakes give the least trouble, so maybe those at the front. Lube the pivots once in a while, change the pads...

Tyre pressures turned my bike into a boneshaker

That's why I've gone with the Brooks.

Tyre pressures turned my bike into a boneshaker

My current setup of Fat Frank's (only cosmetically different from Big Apples) and a Brooks B67 is the most comfortable combination for me. Gell saddles are over-rated IMHO.

is it possible to use this lead acid battery with a conversion kit?

Lead acid might look like value for money, but when you look closely it's a false economy. How do I know this? Because I have 8 x 14 ah batteries, barely used, sitting in my garage. For a start, a 14ah SLA is roughly equivalent to 7ah of Lithium. The other problem is energy density. For the...

Tyre pressures turned my bike into a boneshaker

If you chuck a pair of Big Apples on it and run them at min pressure I'm sure it will improve. I use the Fat Franks, but they are supposed to the same tyre underneath. Admittedly, I'm running 26" on the cruiser but the difference in comfort was significant.

    Overclockers Dream

Sorry, I meant to expand upon the method here. Once upon a time, I played guitar in a punk band. As a result I can count in 4's at an incredible rate. With a cable tie bashing on the mudguard at each revolution, I can get in sync with the rhythm, and tick off each 4 count on my fingers, until...

I would have gone and got it myself, and this sorry tale shows that it would have been the best plan.

    AC/DC

Things may have changed, but I thought there was a law/regulation (poss EU) that states that the bike should have a separate supply for the lights. I'm guessing that's why the terrible solution of a dynamo has been used. To my mind, the best way would be to have a small battery for lights...

I would say the bigger the better, but will it fit in the frame?

    Overclockers Dream

Unless you are going to put it in a 20" (or less) rim, then this is not a good hill climber. It certainly does not compare with a BPM.

Ok, no load speed is a whopping 370 rpm (ish, no Speedo to confirm, had to count it manually with a cable tie bashing the mudguard.)

    Rear wheel off center

Or, leave it the right way up, slacken the mechanism that holds it into the drop outs (could be nuts, or a quick release skewer) and give it a little shake. That should locate it into the dropouts correctly.
