Build spec by committee, might that include you?

I have a very similar kit of the same company. Just a front wheel hub. While it is perfectly fine for roads and very gentle offroad tracks I would never use it on any mtb track. For that only mid drive.

Well... consider yourself officially informed. It is now up to you if you choose to have a legal bike or try to fly under the radar.

    Batteries Charging Routine

My point exactly. 2A is nothing as long as you keep all of it waterproof. Even if for some reason I decide to plug there a combination microwave and surround HiFi system, what is the worst case scenario? Fuse would blow up? As far as I understand it is exactly how it is being done. Battery is...

How an ordinary user would know how much of capacity has been lost?

    Batteries Charging Routine

Perhaps it is because (as far as I understand) balancing is done by battery not by a charger.

    Batteries Charging Routine

Manufacturers recommend leaving batteries on charge for a long time (6,12,24h) from time to time. They wouldn't be doing that unless they are confident it is safe. Is balancing cells considered as overcharge? As for extension leads I simply can't see any negative aspects of using them while...

Same rules apply for offroad unless you are on a private land and with owners permission.

    Batteries Charging Routine

I am starting to think this advice is given by people who do not understand process of charging ebike battery. It is more like copy/paste general knowledge from somewhere. In my opinion the further away from home you take battery and charger the safer you are. After all I don't quite like idea...

I am guessing not all PAS work in the same way. PAS I have is completely crap at low speeds. I very much prefer to use throttle only for precision maneuvering.

You will find online a lot of conflicting information regarding throttles. For me throttle is a must. I find it not only convenient, but also an important safety feature, so I choose to believe throttles are legal https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/dft-pedal-cycles-converted-twist-go-exempt-type-approval/

    BBC and battery regulation

On mountain bike there is a huge bag in frame triangle - DIY battery? Fire started on another bike which is behind fridge, but many uncomfortable questions can be asked here. I would also like to know where those bikes and batteries were purchased.

    BBC and battery regulation

On this short video we see oversized most likely illegal motor. Good point to start with. Then any purchase history? Was owner questioned about bike, battery, charger? Was there anything left? Cables? Controller? It is easy to put a finger of blame on battery while I am under impression it is...

Plug the cable into a main socket rather than an extension lead I always use an extension lead... I wish we had a single case of battery fire properly analyzed

    Time for a helmet camera?

Cyclists beware when I drive around speed cameras as for sure my eyes are not on the road. On a positive note you will be hit by a medium size car driving below speed limit ;)
