    Warped slick tyres....from new

I wouldn't use the reflective strips as an indication of any abnormalities in the tyre. They are there solely for you to be seen more clearly and probably aren't attached to the tyre in an accurate way. They don't need to be!! I run Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres on both wheels and the...

    BMSBATTERY can this be right???

I'm soon going to take the plunge of ordering all the stuff for my summer build. BMSBATTERY will be the supplier of a front drive 350w Bafang BPM, and also an ECITYPOWER 48v15Ah lithium ion battery from the following series: E-Bike-Pack05: 1. Battery voltage: 24V, 36V, 48V; 2. Battery capacity...

Softer tyres - cause what problems?

I do believe that they will be more prone to punctures at a lower pressure. I always keep mine at 70psi, and yes it is a pain in the bum to inflate them on a regular basis to maintain this, but well worth it for the puncture free trips. I find that there's not a lot of difference in ride...

    48v throttle suitability?

Can anyone tell me by looking at the wiring, if this 48v throttle might be suitable to use on an electric bike. It is intented for a scooter, but i'm not sure if electric bikes and scooters work in a similar fashion. It's difficult to tell the colours ( probably my PC :( ), but they look like...

16 Mile Towpath commute,is it realistic?

I have to agree with Old Timer on doing the trip by road. You won't arrive at work in a good frame of mind after travelling along a canal path at night. I ride along this type of terrain 2-3 times a week in the good weather during the day for fun, and i seriously wouldn't want to be doing a...

Differences bewteen front and rear hub motor fixings

Ok, so let me get this clear. The washers with the little tab that sits in the fork/frame should stop the axle from spinning??? And the reason why a torque arm is used on alloy forks is to strengthen them??? So a proper heavy duty set of front forks could get away with the tabbed washer...

Differences bewteen front and rear hub motor fixings

Hub motors and torque arms I know that a torque arm is highly recommended when fitting a powerful front wheel hub to a bike, but does a powerful rear wheel hub require something similar to stop the axle from spinning?

    E-Bike Of The Year 2010?

Cyclamatic Power Plus. No more reliable or less reliable than most of the electric bikes people own. Cut's the mustard across the rough stuff and believe me i've tried all sorts of terrain. Works very well in torrential rain. Great price and parts can be upgraded / replaced for reasonable cost...

    Ping 36v 10Ah battery question

Thank you mutmost :) I didn't think Ping would reply so fast, but he has triumphed again :D His reply was: The fully charged voltage fresh off the charger is around 45v. But after a while of the charger is disconnected, the voltage will drop to around 42-43v. The nominal voltage...

    Ping 36v 10Ah battery question

I've e-mailed Ping, but maybe someone here already knows the answers. What's the fully charged fresh off the charger voltage of his 36v 10Ah battery? Also what's the nominal no load voltage once it has stabilized?
