Private E Scooters to be Legalised

Depends on the rules for them, including what speed limit they have. The rules for the current rental scooters are that one must have a moped driving licence and insurance, the latter currently from the hire company. It's the pedestrians I feel sorry for, since they'll often be ridden...

    Where Do You Live V2.0

We don't normally use the full post code for privacy reasons Neil, just placing somewhere in the general area since we cycle anyway. But I can shift it if you wish? .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Another contentious issue involving his competence now coming from Boris Johnson. Apparently the Queen's Speech will contain his plans to scrap the Northern Ireland Protocol. That should cause another uproar involving the EU and Ireland. Already it's being asked, why on eartb did he sign up...

Trouble is, "we" let them, making it come true! Thus the foolishness is "ours". .

    Close passing fines.

The Land Rover driver should have slowed to around walking pace or stopped for the cyclists to pass. Clearly his speed in that confined space was reckless. The second case isn't quite so clear cut since the car's speed cannot be judged from a still photo and the last cyclist was a long way out...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Surviving against all the odds by exploiting the foolishness of others. That he's done so well all his life that he's gone beyond survival to success in achieving the highest post in the land. And he's fast approaching three years in that post, despite little trace of any aptitude for it. .

He probably won't take any notice, especially if he doesn't get a further fine from the Met. Just another abject apology and comment that now it's time to get on with the job that needs doing. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Nice theory. :) But apart from anything else, he's the PM, he and his office will get different treatment, so I've no doubt they have a direct phone number to a liason officer in the Met for any of the many inquiries the government might have. It's only ordinary bods like us who have to go...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The party wouldn't dare announce that he hasn't received a further FPN without checking if the Met Police have issued one. Johnson might be slapdash about legal matters but his party aides wouldn't be, knowing how many political banana skins are around. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We're ok in Croydon, London: National Death Rate per 100,000 = 2.4 Croydon Death Rate per 100,000 = 0.3 And it's much the same in much of London and has been consistently so since mid 2020. Vaccination rates: Two Doses National = 86.4% Two Doses Croydon = 64.7% Booster National = 68%...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm sure he'd be ready, but I'm not so sure the old guard of the 1922 committee want it to happen yet. Events will probably be the decider, things like more fines, Sue Gray's report being worse than expected and Johnson getting visibly more and more rattled by these events. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm sure they can but don't want to at present. They know the prospects for the country are going to be bad for a long time yet, so bringing in someone better now just gives time for him to be cast as another failing to improve our situation. Perhaps better to cling onto Johnson if they can...

How bad could a (new) £90 trailer be? I've ordered a Homcom folding trailer

Probably a waste of time yet again answering, if you don't see it through keeping me on Ignore. Talk about spitting into the wind! However, the trailer Mars has is different, the wheels only supported one side. The one I used and which you've ordered is much stronger with the QR wheels...

How bad could a (new) £90 trailer be? I've ordered a Homcom folding trailer

That's good to learn Neal. I've had the same impression in my area that the staff tend to make up rules to suit themselves. They never challenged my bike trailer use though. .

How bad could a (new) £90 trailer be? I've ordered a Homcom folding trailer

Guerney wont see my reply since he took a dislike to me and put me on "Ignore" when he first joined. Obviously doesn't know all the information on many e-bike subjects he's missing ! He'll see it if it's quoted in a reply. .

How bad could a (new) £90 trailer be? I've ordered a Homcom folding trailer

I recognise the design, the same Chinese company have been making these for years and they are perfectly ok. In fact I used one as the chassis for my huge bike trailer by removing all the superstructure and building a new body, floor and revised towbar on it, see below. The chrome on the rims...

    Help! Hi there, seasoned members!

Welcome to the forum Mary-jo. I don't know what familiarity you have with e-bikes, but they do not perform like mopeds so being able to pedal effectively to assist the motor is essential. That usually isn't possible with a moped style seat due to its width at the front obstructing the thigh...
