    Kudos Arriba 25MPH ;-)

So I see that the 15 MPH cut off speed doesn't suit you and as a result you have decided that you will ignore this particular aspect of the law. People on here often cite the fact that in their opinion 15 MPH is too slow and that the law needs to change and that the only way to realise the...

Do you own any other electric vehicles/equipment

My first electric vehicles, I had two at the same time, were an Austin Healey 3000 and a Mercedes 190SL. I still have them both and the Scalextric Set 65, with penalty chicane, that they came in (Christmas 1967). Like most similar toys of this era, Hornby, Arfix, Subuteo the artwork on the box...

Do you own any other electric vehicles/equipment

I have a 2 KW, 11.2 Joule demolition SDS hammer drill and into the chuck, by means of a special adaptor, fits a 1" diameter x 6" long piece of wooden doweling which has been tightly bound with razor wire. I keep this handy just in case Chris Huhne should happen to be in the neighbourhood.

    Energy Prices

I like the idea of everyone switching to a single supplier leaving some companies with no customers. It would be interesting to see how the government would react. No doubt there will be legislation to save us all from our own stupidity. There will be good reasons why the government couldn't let...

    Energy Prices

With the on-set of the annual inflation busting round of energy price hikes, it has reminded me how difficult it is to make a price comparison between the various energy suppliers. I don't know if I trust the comparison sites because if I enter my annual consumption for gas and electricity, I...

    Who reads trashy fiction ?

Katy Price (Jordan). She holds the unique record of actually having written more books than she has read! I recently found a copy of Jeffrey Archer's Paths of Glory in a hotel room. I'm not really keen on him, but I did enjoy this book. It about George Malory. Not strictly accurate, but an...

    eZee Delivers With Zero Emissions

It's a great idea, it looks good and it's far better than using a car, but is it zero emissions? Where does the electricity used to charge the battery come from? Zero emissions, no environmental impact and other such phrases niggle me...a bit.

Is it a bicycle or a motorbike?

Was this it? Perhaps someone should resurrect it on the anniversary.

Terrifying near miss at level crossing

As long as a level crossing is in working order, lights, claxon or barrier of some description, then I don't believe that it is dangerous. Some may require more vigilance than others, but that doesn't mean that they are dangerous. It just means that a knob-head is more likely to meet his or her...

    Royal Mail - good buy?

I'd though about it and drawn the same conclusions as flecc. Apart from the letters / post box service, they don't offer much which is different to the multitude of other couriers out there fighting for business. I think the courier market is very tough and I wonder how well The Royal Mail will...

    Message for D8veh

There is also a D8ve which I suppose is an inevitable consequence of people's names commonly starting with the characters d, 8, v and e. Pretty soon someone will have to move on to de8vf if the trend continues.

Terrifying near miss at level crossing

This isn't just an isolated incident and it isn't just female cyclists who are guilty of going around these train barriers. It's males, females, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers of motor vehicles. What I really don't understand is why. I have crept through the occasional red light on my push...

Good spot. Is there a way to tell when the battery was manufactured? Serial number or something similar?

London Electric Bike Company-the biggest stock of e-bikes in the UK?

OK if you are looking for a cable tie and duct tape lash-up. It seems to me that LEBC and 50C stock quality products, so I doubt this news will trouble them at all.

Err... That headline - it's not quite right.

I saw a headline in The Mail On-Line which read: "Volunteers Wanted to Help Rape Victims." I'm sure they meant to imply that volunteers were need to help and support victims of rape, but that's The Mail for you.

    Expensive mistake

These were my thoughts. I have always understood that on a correctly fitted bike you should be able to place the heel of the foot on the pedal, when it is at the bottom of the stroke, and the leg should be almost straight. This is how my bikes are set up and I can't touch the ground whilst...

    Question for you tech experts

J That's not entirely true. The Panasonic three light handlebar indicator splits the range into thirds with reasonable accuracy. Until a conditioning, full to cut-off, run has been done, it is very non-linear.
