You didn't have to send back anything though. Plus, you don't need any support so it's perfectly OK for you to buy from a wholesaler. Still, they shouldn't underdeclare the value of the invoice to give themselves a price advantage. That is true not only to me but also to those selling on ebay...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

I am too old to learn new skills like making YT videos! On top of this, I am rubbish at taking anything apart and putting them back. I always end up with a small pile of leftovers, screws, nuts, washers...

are you officially working for toseven or not? The impression I have is toseven is represented by HighVoltageKits.

It's the Tongsheng rep who sent me their new catalogue last month and asked me if I was interested. It should be on both Aikema and Tongsheng websites by now. I suspect the big Chinese wholesalers will advertise them very soon. Someone posted on this thread that it was previously known as the...

Aikema / Tongsheng have started to ship their TSDZ2B Turbo. It looks like the DM01/BBS02. I have ordered some stock and will get them here in October. The price is about the same as Bafang BBS02 but with torque sensor and optional throttle. I am not bothered about whether their Turbo can take...

easy to fit is in itself a nice quality to have. If people can't solder, is there any point to tell them to get their kits from the likes of PSWPower who are a wholesaler. The wires will inevitably be left too long and become a hazard, the motor does not have suitable RPM, battery made with...

We know how to service the TSDZ2 and 'B' revision outside warranty thanks to the YT videos. We need to see how in practice the DM01 and DM02 can be serviced and where their weaknesses are. If there are any issues with IP, I expect Tongsheng/Aikema lawyers would deal with them, not the end users.

Prices have gone crazy for bare hubs + shipping + VAT - anyone know a good source?

If all the Chinese sellers behave correctly like bmsbattery, I would be more than happy to supply motors, spokes, rims and other components separately and at competitive prices. It's companies like PSWPower selling goods at near wholesale price then underdeclare the value of the purchase to...

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

Let's say you simply connect the middle pin to a pullup resistor. The battery sends a block then waits. You then heat up the thermistor. Would the line goes low?

Thank you for a nice and clear experiment. I assume the protection signal can be connected to a brake sensor.

    Batteries Charging Routine

The safe zone for your 36V battery is 31.5V to 41.5V. You only need to knock 0.5V off to be very safe, that's equivalent to 5% of its capacity or taking the bike out to ride for a few minutes. For me, the safe practice is to charge only when you know you are going to use the bike on the same or...

"Conversion kits to blame in 40% of ebike fires, says London Fire Brigade"

Batteries are inherently safer than town gas or electricity if built, used correctly and not abused or soaked in rainwater or sea spray. There is really nothing to worry about when you follow the manufacturers' recommendations. I always take an interest in the e-bikes of the Uber Eats crowd at...

"Conversion kits to blame in 40% of ebike fires, says London Fire Brigade"

40% of 112 fires = 45 kits. It very possible. Just look how prevalent are the triangular frame batteries in the photos of ebike fires. They are not factory built bikes.

    Charging pack to 41V experiment

Balancing is automatically performed when the voltage is within 5% to 10% of the maximum, eg 41V-41.5V, depending on the balancing circuit trigger setting of that particular battery and stops when the delta value is less than 10mV.

    Charging pack to 41V experiment

I haven 't got a theory. All I want to know is how much my customers would lose in capacity with a charger set to 41V instead of 42V. If it's 3% or less, it's worthwile, if it's 7% or more, I'll pass.
