I've gone and done it !!

I changed over to Mac machines a couple of years ago. The constant updating of the Windows operating system and the inevitable gradual slowdown just became too frustrating. For me, it's not so much the Mac hardware, it is the Mac software which makes all the difference. To say that Windows is...

Going rate for fixing a puncture ?

There have been many debates on here regarding the merits of these liquid tyre sealents. Here is one of them. I have never bothered with slime, too messy for me and I can imagine it fouling up the valve. I fitted Marathon Plus tyres to my bike very soon after delivery. 9000 puncture free miles...

.........and wait for the next iPhone model to be released. It must be due imminently. Here is a good indicator of whats coming from Apple. and here is the link to the £0.80p / month mobile data from TMobile, should you decide to go for a 3G iPad! This is a fantastic deal.

I've gone and done it !!

I colleague has the Samsung Galaxy SII. A great phone with a nice large clear display and very good camera. It does the same things as the iPhone, maybe more and it costs less. But......it's not an iPhone. I know that makes no sense whatsoever and I can't justify the statement in anyway, but for...

I've gone and done it !!

Apple equipment is very good, excessively expensive, but good. I used to be a dedicated Nokia fan and really wanted to resist the calling of Apple products. I even went for a Blackberry phone to avoid the iPhone. Then my wife came home with a works iPhone one day. I was immediately impressed...

    London in Flames!

I agree with you on most things, but not on this. The situation over the weekend was different, it was wanton criminal damage, theft, burglary, arson, riot, assault, robbery and a host of other offences. There is no parralel to to be drawn here. I do agree that a massive travesty of justice has...

    London in Flames!

I think that the media have a certain amount of responsibility for fuelling the situation of the last few days. The BBC's reporting leaves me wanting to punch the TV set. They are constantly drip feeding us with subtle messages which blame spending cuts and the police for what has happened...

    Is this project sheer lunacy?!

Road traffic law applies on Bridleways and Footpaths. The only place that you can legally use a non compliant bike is on private land from which the public are excluded.

Going rate for fixing a puncture ?

I would guess at 30 minutes work and taking into account shop overheads £12 to £15.

    London in Flames!

What an interesting thread. I saw, "call me Dave" talking tough on TV yesterday. What I wonder is, where does he plan to put all these people who have been arrested? The prisons are full, the police cell blocks are full and a the juvenile detention centres have been full for a while. This is...

Electrical power measurements on my Agattu

10MPH, I have worked through this and I can't see where the error, if there is one, creeps in. Very interesting by the way and for some reason it made me smile. This sort of experimentation reminded me of a previous life in engineering. The only possible thing that I can think of is this: The...

Tonaro Bighit For Sale + 1000 Miles on my Aggatu

What sort of range are you achieving with this battery? Could you give us some idea stating which power mode you are using and if you have changed any of the gearing from standard in order to raise the speed at which the motor cuts out?

    The Cricklade Country Way, or.........

Thanks for the detailed report Bob Blew it. The Tonaro bikes certainly seem to be attracting favourable reports from their owners.

    Panasonic/Kalkhoff crank play

Tomorrow, I start a run of 7 shifts flying a helicopter. At times, this will be quite low over densely populated areas. On Monday the 8th, it is scheduled to have it's 100 hour service. Shall I advise the airframe fitter not to bother with the critical checks, some of which are bolt torques...

    NuVinci and Bosch

For the purposes of legality, it is the motor output, not power at the back wheel which is the deciding factor.

    Panasonic/Kalkhoff crank play

When new, my bike did suffer from the loose bolt problem. This isn't a pdi issue, when I initially took delivery of the bike it was fine. Nuts, bolts, cables and threads, "bed in" during the first few miles of use and unfortunately do become loose. This is normal and this is why it is important...

    Panasonic/Kalkhoff crank play

I'm trying to find a polite way to say that your post is a complete load of *******, but I'm struggling at the moment. What experience of the Panasonic system is your contribution based upon? As far as I can tell, you only seem to be a seller of equipment that isn't suitable for the UK market...

    Panasonic/Kalkhoff crank play

Whilst I agree that a new and expensive bike like the Kalkhaoff should be free from defects and the components should last a long time, I think that a couple of loose bolts might be stretching the definition of a defect. Gregorio, from memory, I think the LH cowling securing screws are in the...

    Pro Connect Feels Rough

Yes, changing from a 9 to 11 tooth motor sprocket will raise the speed at which the motor cuts out. (that is the speed the bike is travelling at, not the speed of the motor in rpm, if that makes sense) This will inevitably lead to a reduction in range.
