I can't see anything that can work for Labour to establish itself beyond one possible term. The combination of national debt, our circumstances and a middle of the road Starmer led government are going to lead to continuing voter dissatisfaction well into the future.

That's the nightmare. Jeremy Corbyn knew what was necessary for the country to head towards the Swedish model but was too scared to say as much, knowing that was the last thing the people wanted, high levels of taxation. They want the benefits but none of the costs.
There is no simple...
It's even more fundamental than low tax, it's an obsession with low cost everything.
Starting with Ted Heath's abandonment of RPM (resale price maintenance) in 1964 and the discount culture that followed, the British have become a nation knowing the price of everything but the value of nothing...
How can you post this when the British voted in Boris Johnson as PM with one of the largest majorities ever in an unfixed election? The degree of their rationalising behind that was truly extraordinary.
At least the Brazilians, Turks and Russians had the excuse of their various kinds of...
Well yes they do, and he could well be right.
Come April, long after the parties subject has become boring, when the new energy bills roll in with a 54% increase it will certainly be that which the public will be focusing on, their immediate self interest.
If Johnson survives the parties will...
Indeed, we have to start earning our way in the world and not rely on the madness of a service economy. That's ok for a little country like Switzerland with around 8 million people, but for us with eight times the population and pretensions to a top place in the world, not remotely adequate...
Let him stay, the longer the better to destroy Tory government for a very long time.
He won't do any damage to this country, it was damaged beyond easy repair a very long time ago and in continuous decline since 1950.

This video shows a 2018 model, same year as the OP's, the battery looks a proprietary job and has the controller built in.
Does yours look like it shabba007 ?
.
I'm afraid circa £400 is a common price for proprietary e-bike lithium batteries like that model's.
Your 2018 model has the controller built into the battery case, it was moved out from 2020 on, but it should still be able to be recelled.

With all the desertions and his determination to stay, I think Boris Johnson has a secret ambition to run the country single handed, taking all cabinet and advisory posts.
Should be fun. ;)

That's very typical, Britain is famed for it's cyclepaths that start nowhere and end nowhere.
This otherwise superb example in my area peters out to an ordinary pavement at one end and a narrow bottleneck between iron railings and an overgrown hedge at the other end:
There have been numerous lithium battery fires since they can be prone to self destruct if there is the slightest thing wrong in manufacture. The most dangerous time is during charging so it's wisest to never leave a lithium battery charging when out or asleep.
That said, most of the fires...
Maybe the RNLI will come to his rescue from their Thames branch with one of their hovercraft !
After all, our heroic PM is battling an unprecedented storm. ;)

Chinese, preferably hub motor bike, since they are simple and easy for someone with your abilities to repair with easily available generic parts, including reasonably priced replacement generic batteries. Preferably aim for an established make known for good service although that's not vital...
Yes you have got it right, driver should give way to pedestrians on the kerb and obviously wanting to cross. But as ever with the highway code advice which is just that, only when it is safe to do so.
It's a typical British bodge. They are imitating the Netherlands where motorists commonly...
Following the string of regretful, angry or tearful departures of our PMs and assistants, Thatcher, Major, Brown, Clegg, Cameron, May and likely now to be Johnson, perhaps a slight change in the address:
10, Drowning Street, London, SW1

That makes a lot of sense Neal. The nicest e-bike I've known for riding without power was the Giant Lafree Lite which had very early phase down of assist power, gone long before 15 mph. I also frequently rode that between 15 and 19 mph, only slowing to use the assistance when meeting hills.
