    Segboards, Are They Legal?

Well you’ve shared the photo and if you’ve liked the page you’re in with a shout. Look forward to seeing a picture of you in full control of one of the things in due course.

I assumed she took it on holiday there not that she lived there.

    Segboards, Are They Legal?

I caught a bit of a TV programme a few months ago - it might have been The Gadget Show but might not - where three people had to get from Waterloo Bridge to Covent Garden in the quickest time. There was a pedelec and something else, and one was riding one of these Segboards. As I recall the...

Whoosh Big Bear 15ah battery Bafang motor.

It would help interest buyers to know where you live. If it was me I would put a price on it too and be prepared to be flexible. What you think is reasonable may not be what some others think. Plus if you ask for ‘reasonable’ offers someone is bound to offer you £100. There are chancers everywhere.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

Could be relevant to others though so they are now forewarned.

    another which one...sorry.

You should tell us your weight and how far you want to go on it. People here may not have tried all the bikes you mention. Hub or dérailleur is a matter of preference. Hub is cleaner and can be lower maintenance but is a slower change and slightly more hassle to change the wheel. But does allow...

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

But shouldn’t a customer expect a 'soft transition’ as a matter of course? The constant jerking forward as the cut out comes in at full power must put many riders off, and probably is the main reason that they want to derestrict it.

Hi its my second posting but still need help.

Try posting on the what bike should I buy forum. Woosh are good for the money with good support. If you can ride the Seago locally you should do so because there is no substitute for trying them out. It might be fine in flat conditions but not hilly North Wales. I don’t know. I think the Woosh...

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

The only way to make riding those bikes a pleasurable experience is to change the cut out. You don’t have to go overboard but 30kph is 19mph and eliminates the very unpleasant harsh cut out. Someone wrote recently that the later LCD allows you to set the cut out in steps of one, and in that...

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

How would she know? I don’t suppose anyone would be fool enough to send it back under warranty without putting it back to 25kph. In this case though there can’t be many bikes modified with rigid forks so he has made himself a hostage to fortune by posting about all this.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

You might be better off with a kit. I’ve linked a thread which might be of interest. He borrowed a legal Kudos for a few days then went for a kit. Derestricted I assume which is just a matter of changing the LCD settings on his...

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

Some bikes like Kalkhoffs use the 10% leeway to cut out at just over 17mph. You will need a bike that rolls well if you want to pedal past the cut out. E bikes are heavy and many don’t roll well. I can hold a few mph above the 17 mph on my Kalkhoff on the flat but I can’t go anything like as...

    how far

EddiePJ. Probably by being more honest about the importance of rider input and weight and terrain. Most people are quite capable of understanding that when it’s explained to them. But they prefer to make exaggerated claims based on ideal conditions instead. A bit like the economy and emissions...

Cyclamatic Power Plus - A Beginners Tale ...

He probably meant Marathon Plus tyres. I have them and keep them at 85psi and rolling resistance is very good. They don’t do much to cushion bumps at that pressure, but I’m used to hard tyres and it’s a compromise I’m happy to make.

    how far

They and dealers should be more honest about the range to be expected in the real world too. They all give exaggerated figures based on flat rides at low power which mislead buyers new to e bikes.

Pagan Electric bike, 60mph fully road legal

You’d still need a CBT to ride this if you don’t have a full motorcycle licence as it seems to be classed as equivalent to a 125cc learner bike. So that means taking another CBT if you don’t pass a test after two years. At one time they just let people keep on riding 125cc bikes with a...

    Woosh Krieger Review

A charging cycle is a full charge and discharge, whether it’s all in one go, or say four 25% charge/discharges making one full cycle. So recharging often doesn’t affect the amount of cycles the battery is good for. My German battery is rated as good for 1100 cycles, or say 2600 charges if...

    Woosh Krieger Review

You always get so many different views on battery management here, but all the bike manufacturers as far as I’m aware still tell you to charge after every trip. Assuming it wasn’t a very short one, and after every couple or three if they are quite short journeys. It’s a bit like the storage...

How to replace an e-bike tube without removing the wheel.

On one of the other threads on these someone said they just pulled the old one out if the way and tied it off so it didn’t catch anything to get home.

    Exploding handlebars !

Looks like a fairly sophisticated joke to me. “The use of explosives is not legal in all states.” Meaning US states. Get you banged up in the UK certainly. It takes a couple of seconds to think through how easy it would be to cause collateral damage to people not stealing the bike. Not to...
