David, My position on this is clear, but I think it's far from clear you are breaking the law. Reluctant as I am to see rich lawyers further enriched, I think you first need to establish the legality or otherwise of your use of the Union Flag. I would hope a commercial lawyer wouldn't charge...

    Lack of Oxygen

Dave, Insightful as ever. Seems to me the position can be summed up in one word - cashflow. Kudos can always have bikes available presumably because your other businesses help finance the stock. A business solely reliant on ebike sales is going to struggle to have enough money to place the...

    Lack of Oxygen

Andrew, Thanks for the prompt reply, which I hope will be informative to other prospective Oxygen customers as well as me. One thing I hope you've sorted is the twist grip gear changer indicator. The bike I tried had '1' as the fastest/highest gear and '7' as the lowest. Might have been...

    Lack of Oxygen

Thanks for the tip. I'm strictly a leisure cyclist, so unless I happen across something irresistible, purchase is unlikely to happen until the return of warmer weather and longer days.

    Lack of Oxygen

Ebike selling is a strange business. In August of this year I more or less decided the Oxygen Emate City was the ebike for me. None in stock, and I was quoted October as the delivery date. In September I learn production is being moved to Poland and there will be no bikes until at least...

I think it's great that some of the brands/importers/retailers post on here. It brings an insight into ebiking that I couldn't get elsewhere. Equally, the contribution of 'lay members' is valuable. To me, there's room for both.

One or two on here are a little bit too eager to tell others what to post and on what topic. If Kudos, Woosh, Wisper and some other members want to talk about Wisper's use of the Union Jack, it isn't up to any of us to tell them not to. The topic interests me, so I've posted a couple of times...

We should send flecc to France where he can join the Academie francaise and its fight for language purity: Académie française - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ' Widespread use of 'le hamburger' and 'le flyover' are just two of the battles lost by the academie.

It's a living language and times have moved on since the fastest way to get to Australia was on the Cutty Sark. Union Jack has passed into the language as an alternative - and I think more popular - name for our Union Flag. I could evidence this by quoting a nasty racist rhyme beloved of far...

Putting a Union Jack on a manufactured product suggests it is made in the UK. Customers are being misled by Wisper. When I began looking for an ebike a few months ago, I saw a Wisper and thought it was UK made, which may have had some impact on my buying decision. A little research revealed...

    Puffin Bikes

Delivery/stock is a big consideration with ebikes. If Kudos or Woosh say they have 20 bikes ready to go, you can believe them. Some less scrupulous 'manufacturers' will take your order and then set about sourcing the bikes from China which can take months.

Old National bike with crank drive

Googling the obvious produces this: Matsusita Electric Industrial Co. - Supplier Profile / Detailed Company Information, Imports & Exports The phrasing 'Matsusita Electric Industrial Company' is the same as on the pic of the bike's tube. Looks to me it may be separate company from the one...

    Another Tonaro Esprit question

Cheap panniers will generally be less waterproof and less durable than expensive ones. Fine for occasional fair weather use, but not up to a round Britain tour.

Old National bike with crank drive

There does not appear to be a 'h' in the name in the pic, although National does suggest a Panasonic connection. According to wiki, there is a Matsusita Electric Co. I don't know if it's just a different Anglicised spelling, or an entirely separate company. ファイル:Matsusita Electric...

Net twin suspension alternative to Haibke

Take a £750 mountain bike, slap a Bosch derailleur destroyer on it and charge nearly three grand. Nice work if you can get it.

I doubt a test would reveal much other than the brand prejudice of the rider. Both bikes will ride nicely when shiny and new. The real test is in a few years when one bike might still be giving stalwart service, and the other might be off the road more often than it's on.
