I will certainly look into fitting extra ball-bearings before shipping the TSDZ2.

@Blacklite It's just deduction. Their comparison table says strain gauge so its measurements have to be transferred. The two coils are clearly marked. There is no reasonable arrangement other than induction transfers

It's not that bad. The basic equation is Faraday's law Ε = – N dφ/dt Where, ε = Induced emf N = number of turns of the coil dφ/dt = instantaneous change in magnetic flux with time. The coils are placed very closely, you are looking at perhaps 2%-5% loss in φ across the air gap. The main issue is...

agreed. The drawing may show only the placement and not the working principle. It may not be a strain gauge at all.

Blacklite, It seems part 16 is the fixed coil and 17 rotating with the shaft.

It's not a big job to make a replacement shaft for the bottom bracket, it can be done here in the UK (I used to work for a company in Sheffield that can do that) or in the EU. I am a pensioner so I am not in a hurry nor desparate to feed my family and you should really tone down your voice a bit...

it seems they offer two battery options, performance 10AH, 100km range and expert 15AH 120km range. The price is RRP, installed by dealers via 250 dealer network so they are not too bad. They don't want to sell directly to end users though.

I am interested to know if the gearbox is made in France.

    Hi

with cadence sensor, the amount of assistance is not fixed. If you change abruptly from assist level 1 to 5 for example, the bike won't throw you off the saddle. This is because athigher level, the controller will give you just a little more assist, you will find that pedalling is easier but the...

why I like the new torque sensor in the DM-02? 1. the coils (16,17 on the diagram) are much smaller. 2. The Hall sensor is replaced by a strain gauge (17), that should not suffer from stray magnetic field and give a more stable output. One weakness of the TSDZ2 torque sensor that is still not...

hello Ben. Noboby on this thread trolls anyone. Alex can't produce any more information that we are asking for about his products. I don't think other places have received any more info than we have. Elinx is very clued up about the Tongsheng, blacklike will soon receive his so it won't be a...

I am looking for a partner to produce an add-on torque sensor for the BBS01

BBS01B had practically all the early issues sorted. Controllers got better FETs. water seals fit much better. It's rare now to come across a rusty BBS01B. The GSMoon was a disaster. The controller and LCD were not up to scratch. Since, I never want to be first in line for anything.

TSDZ2: DM-01: elinx, can you help pointing out the differences? the air gap between the motor and the rim of the platine seems to be smaller on the DM-01 but it's difficult to work out how much from the new angle.,

Thank you elinx for the explanation and the wiki link. This picture is from the wiki and may be useful for those wanting better heat dissipation for their TSDZ2: using thermopads as thermal bridges to the outer case: Please note those pictures are of the TSDZ2. @alexfnoble do you have a...

Thank you for the pictures, and welcome back. useful as it is, it does not show the before after difference. Elinx posted a picture of your stator, perhaps elinx has also a picture of the tsdz2 stator so we can compare. By the way, the new motor looks very good
