    Thinking of new ebike

As of today 250w bikes are officially legal. Though they have been de facto legal for some time. So you can smile at dibble as you cruise past him.

At midnight UK pedelecers with 250w motors can buy insurance

Most insurers I contacted refused to cover any e bikes on their contents policies, legal or not.

    Extend your battery

Can’t be much though can it? More like a low power standby and not really relevant for range.

    Extend your battery

If going downhill and coasting or pedalling past the cut out, I don’t think there is any current being taken from the battery anyway. Or am I wrong?

Electric bike rider run down by fashion designer

Many of the people who were sent to prison like this man were not rioters at all but just in the wrong place at the wrong time. As I said he took a bottle of water from an open and riot hit shop. He did not break into it and the riot was over by then anyway. Conviction rates are so high in...

Electric bike rider run down by fashion designer

Quite the opposite in my case. I’m thinking more of 95% conviction rates in magistrates courts, and people sent to prison for two years for taking a bottle of water after a riot left the shop open and unattended. Crown Courts get things wrong a lot more often than they like to admit too.

Electric bike rider run down by fashion designer

I must say I raised my eyebrows when I read that.

    Motor issue

I don’t think he’ll manage to get little Gove in there.

Second E-Bike Build (rwd hub driven 5000w+)

At speeds of up to 100 mph he needs more than 125 rolling gear. I don’t know where he lives but riding something like the bike in the clip in the UK at anything like those speeds will get him nicked before he needs to recharge it.

    Which is the best Bosch/Yamaha/Shimano

Many German bikes use the ten percent leeway in the law.and cut out at a little over 17 mph. Kalkhoffs certainly do and from a thread here a little while ago others do as well.

    Which is the best Bosch/Yamaha/Shimano

Check out the threads here about warranties. That’s how it works.

    Which is the best Bosch/Yamaha/Shimano

As regards buying from mainland Europe there have been a few threads on the subject recently and a search will turn them up. Warranties will be the main issue as e bikes are classed as push bikes and the warranty will be with the dealer you bought it from. So potentially you might have to send...

    Researching for leccie bike

Torque sensor versus speed sensor is the big divide. It’s why some ask would be buyers whether they are keen cyclists or ex cyclists who want the bike to ride like an unpowered bicycle but give them bionic legs so they ride it as if they were forty years younger, or a sort of electric moped...

Electric Bikes on the Gadget Show

I hope you didn’t have to smack anyone because you didn’t get your steak and chips after that long day.

    Chain Lubricant

It is excellent for cleaning old transister radios and such like. It’s pretty good at drying out engine electrics too. I carried a can with me when I had a Mini many years ago. Heavy rain on a fast road with truck spray would get into the distributer and HT leads stuck out on the front of the...

    Chain Lubricant

WD40 also contains penetrating agents and solvents which get deep into the chain and removes the manufactures lubricant. It’s the lubricant deep in the chain which does the job and that is difficult to replace when it’s gone. Chains will do a couple of thousand miles from new without any...

    Giant XR E+ De-restrict

50 Cycles has interest free credit and their Kalkhoff Impulse 11 is at least as powerful, if not more powerful them the ones you mention as well as having proven reliability and build quality. The Pro Connect 9 is good value.

    Chain Lubricant

I use dry lub, and always used it on my road bikes and also my motor bikes when it became available for them.

I'm in a dilemma not sure what to do.?????

Point taken. I thought he had three e bikes like some others who’ve posted on the thread.

I'm in a dilemma not sure what to do.?????

If it was normal bikes I would agree. But surely the problem with having a few electric bikes is battery care? If you’re not using them for a while you run the risk of problems developing even with sophisticated batteries.
