    Seat Post Clamps

Thank you flecc. I over tightened the original and stripped the thread. Must be more careful next time.

    Seat Post Clamps

I have broken the seat post clamp on my Pro Connect. My fault! I am ordering a new one and need to know the size. The seat post is 28.6mm diameter and the frame diameter is 35.7 mm. When a retailer specifies a clamp size on their website, which are they referring to? Seat post or frame...

    Review of Kalkhoff ProConnect S.

Hi James Some encouraging observation that you have made regarding expected battery life. I’m pleased with the way that my battery is aging at the moment, so hopefully we will get an acceptable service life out of these units. I’ve had my Pro Connect for just one year now and have used it...

    Review of Kalkhoff ProConnect S.

Hi Musicbooks I have been doing exactly the same, saving for my next battery and I did consider buying a second.. From what I understand from this forum, the batteries tend to deteriorate with age regardless of whether they are used or not, so for that reason, I won’t be buying a second just...

    E Bike on Formula 1

Did anyone spot the Panasonic Ebike parked outside the Toyota garage on F1 Qualifying at lunch time?

Clicking noise on Pro Connect drive sprocket/

Are you absolutely certain that the noise is coming from the pedal crank? The reason I ask is that you seem to imply that the tick does not happen at the same point on each revolution of the crank. I had a very annoying ticking which I thought was coming from the motor / crank. It turned out...

    These seem cheap?

I did see the Euro Tourer. Dreadful! However, have you seen the prototype for the Euro Tourer EROPs (Extended Range Operations)? Apparently, its range is governed by battery capacity alone and not by distance between lavatories, which according to their customer base, is a shortcoming with...

    Marathon Plus anyone?

I placed an order for the tyres yesterday at about 11:30 am, they arrived this morning at 9:00 am. Good service from this company.

    Marathon Plus anyone?

Thanks Mike, I’ll certainly have those two tips in mind when I change the tyres over. The deal posted in this thread still seems to be one of the best around, so I am going to order them in a moment! You are right about the forum. It is quite unique and it is always a refreshing to see how...

    Marathon Plus anyone?

Did they fit John? I think that I am pushing my luck with the standard PC tyres, so I am going to invest in a set of Marathon Plus. This £39.99 offer has ended now and the price has gone up to £45 for the tyres, tubes and delivery. As far as I can tell, this still isn't a bad deal...

Advice needed re problems Gazelle easy glider

If it were my bike, I would undo the nuts and start again tightening them to 33 ft lb / 45 NM.

Advice needed re problems Gazelle easy glider

The figure is 33 ft lb. I have just tried it in a conversion chart and get the same figure as my manual working out. As you say, a bit more for motor / rider combo won't hurt, but perhaps not too much. Regards Tom EDIT: Looks like we posted at the same time on this one!

Advice needed re problems Gazelle easy glider

Hi Flecc I was working on the wheel nuts nedding to be tightened to 45 NM which is the higher of the range of values given on the Shimano data sheet. My sums make this 33 ft lb torque. Your figure is nearly twice that and I was a bit concerned that it might be too much. I have just used...

Advice needed re problems Gazelle easy glider

When you say that the wheel has moved, do you mean the rear wheel? If so, when you pedal, the chain has probably pulled the sprocket side of the rear wheel forwards in the slots with the net result of it twisting in the frame. You will probably find that the tyre then rubs on the frame or the...

    Marathon Plus disappointment

I have managed over 3000 miles / 11 Months on the standard Marathon Racers as fitted to the Pro Connect without a puncture. This is probably due to a combination of good luck and only riding on roads. But having said that, I think they have a Kevlar strip built into them, which probably helps...

    Pro Connect S Photos

Hi Dynamic Position I’ve been away for a while so I’ve only just seen your post. Thanks for the information. I am however, a little confused. I was under the impression that it wasn’t possible to just straight swap the halogen bulb version of the B&M light for an LED version. I thought...

    Pro Connect S Photos

Sorry if I mislead you Mattyduk. I have one of the earlier Pro Connects (July 2008) and it is just a case of removing a bung in the handlebar end. They must have changed the grip design to a fully moulded without bungs on the later models.

Fancy puting a nano on this bad boy?

It may well survive a 1000 ft jump, but will it survive a landing on those power lines about 20 ft below it?
