Best helmet IF you want one?

His doctors did say he would not have survived if he wasn't wearing one. Though from reading between the lines I'm not sure how much of him has survived.

What's the best maintenance free bike?

I had Zoom disks on my last bike and yes they are bad. Interesting about drum brakes though. I've never ridden a bicycle with them, but I've had a lot of motor bikes and cars with drum brakes in the past, and they always needed plenty of adjustment and maintenance.

What's the best maintenance free bike?

You'd have to maintain that too. I think he's talking about more than just maintenance with his current bike though.

What's the best maintenance free bike?

The best thing to do with Zoom brakes is to throw them away and replace them with some cheap hydraulic ones though. The front one anyway. They won't stay adjusted for more than a couple of days or so and they don't stop very well at all.

What's the best maintenance free bike?

Kalkhoff S pedelec one of the Endeavor range. Expensive but Kalkhoffs don't need much attention. That's one of the reasons why they are expensive. Very waterproof too. But nothing is thief proof...An eighteen months old one sold on eBay for only £700 last week, if the seller completed the sale...

The Cube would have been a torque sensor as it was a Bosch, and that would be a different ride to a speed sensor bike where you just have to turn the pedals over. So trying both would give you a better feel for what you need. To improve fitness as you commute maybe a TS is better because you...

I would spend some time researching before I jumped in. You could start here and there are a lot of threads about commuting by e bike including this one. .http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/test-of-pedelec-vs-road-bike-for-long-commute.18795/ There are other informative ones too if you...

    Heads Up to Stolen Bike

Do you really think that anyone is going to listen to a new hobbybobby as I think they used to be called, when he starts telling them where they're going wrong? Police forces have a way of dealing with officers who stick their necks out too far. They hit them over the head with a big hammer.

e bike newbie Cyclamatic or Woosh?

I don't think it's so much to a degree you get what you pay for. You do. So comparing the cycle parts of a Woosh to those of a bike costing over three times as much isn't really fair. Woosh and the other budget bikes like it are basically £175 or so bikes after you take the electrics out and...

Pannier Question for Woosh Big Bear Owners

I bought the 29 litre version from Amazon and they are pretty good for the money. Side fitment is velcro straps at the bottom corners. The straps will probably last a little while before they break. But easy to sew.

A bot. It just randomly quotes a sentence and advertises underneath. All its posts are like that. I reported it.

    Hi

The major choices are between torque sensor bikes where you need to put in effort to get maximum power out, particularly in a hilly area; and speed sensor bikes which give most of their power just by turning the pedals over. Many will have a throttle too so you don't always even have to do that...

Does anyone make a dongle for Kalkhoff Impulse?

Don't know about dongles but you can reprogramme the software with a dealer device. You enter a different size wheel into it I believe which means it won't cut out until a higher speed. The dealer in the UK will lend you it if you bought the bike from them. They won't do it for you though. I...

Who wants to steal my bike?

Where I used to live in North London in the mid nineties there were a lot of burglaries in the road, mainly from garages at the back. But we never had one because our Doberman used to follow the local youths as they walked around around the side lane looking for opportunities and barking at them.
