You are absolutely right, Trex. There are some bikes we made less than 10% on pre Brexit. If we hadn't acted immediately we would now be making a loss on every one of those bikes we sell. 10% was over 100% of our profit.

    Wisper 905 Torque versus ???????

Posted May 27th???? Come on Nigel, let's be pleasant to each other. I am sure we are are all delighted that you are enjoying your Kalkoff. Apart from the one problem with "clacking" they are great bikes as are the guys at 50 Cycles. Let's try and get along with each other? This a great forum...

We all have to keep an eye on currencies and even in the good times it's pretty volatile. The post Brexit crash is something completely different, wiping over 10% off margins in a few minutes. None of want to be currency speculators but if you are in business you ignore such massive changes in...

Help wanted from Ebiker living in Telford

I didn't know that. We did have some trolls here a couple of months ago. I think one if them was particularly rude to him. I hope he comes back, he is a font of knowledge. All the best, David

    Remote support for a Wisper

Hi Steve, Halfords is supplied by one of my dealers. I probably wouldn't choose them. They offer them through the web site only. So you would be buying remotely. The best bet is going through EBikes Scotland, John is used to working with people all over Scotland, if you had an issue he would be...

What do you think is best for me?

Hi Steve, Ebikes Scotland is the closest for you at the moment. John's a great guy and has a lot of brands for testing, not just Wisper. Re Dave's reply he is absolutely correct re Torque sensors. With the Wisper you can choose between both Torque sensor or Speed sensor, so you have the best of...

What do you think is best for me?

Y Yes that's absolutely correct. Start off without having to move the pedals more than 1mm and the more you push the more power you are rewarded with. With the Wisper you can also twist the throttle for immediate max power without applying a lot of pressure to the pedals. All the best, David

What do you think is best for me?

Hi Angelnorth, thanks for explaining the Wisoer Torque system better than I have! Dave is correct a standard Torque system such as in most mid motor systems is fantastic but you do need a certain level of fitness. The beauty of the Wisper Torque system is you get the best of both worlds. 1. A...

What do you think is best for me?

Even better if you disconnect the motor! :p

What do you think is best for me?

I should add that torque sensor bikes will give a rider instant power on a flat or hill start from 0 miles an hour. Very useful especially on steep hills. Our torque sensor bike is unique, the rider can toggle between torque sensor setting and the more basic speed sensor setting whilst the bike...

What do you think is best for me?

That's really interesting. On the cadence sensor only bikes I know the act of simply turning the pedals will turn on the motor. If of course you are going down a very steep hill the motor will be on and driving but will use very little power. I should have been more clear and said a "slight...

Thanks Trex, we are not up to 5000 yet but are gradually getting there. We are certainly a cottage industry! All the best, David

Raleigh are increasing prices by 10% as from August 1.

Hi Trex we have seriously over taken the magic number. Our components are sourced from all over Asia. Most bikes built in China use generic frames and drive systems that are available to anyone. There is another way, our 905 and 705 frames and solid forks are ours, designed and tooled by Amps...

Is my new wisper Torque faulty

It would be very easy if that was the problem, it's certainly worth checking. But with disc brakes the wheel would need to be very much out of true to cause sich binding. All the best, David
