that's probably due to proximity. Both might, when oil and gas price comes down. They have a golden opportunity to buy Russian oil and gas at a discount at the moment.

the majority is very much on the side of Ukraine. About 140 countries voted in the UN against Russia. Over time, the images of the atrocities will spread and only increase the perception that the Russians acted without just cause.

You said that 2/5 or so of the world population are currently pro-Russia . How much of that is due to their dislike of the USA's politics? USA's politics can shift, so is public opinion. It won't be long before they will be confronted with the extent of destruction of Ukraine. The latter is not...

China will have to make up their mind in the next couple of weeks. The UN International Court of Juctice has ordered Russia to stop the war. China will have to follow the decision one way or another so I guess China may supply truck tyres but not drones or missiles.

that reminds me of the early years when IBM tried to sue Phoenix and AMI for infringing their IBM PC BIOS copyrights. Both Phoenix and AMI use clean room reverse engineering to avoid these disputes.

what is the point? in the scheme of things, the cost of the OS is so low that OSes are chosen for their features rather than low cost. So why re-invent the old Windows 2000?

let's see how long their support will last. I'd give it a month. I was fully expecting Putin to annex Donetsk and Luhansk and somehow a track of land to link up with Crimea but not sending missiles into civilian housing blocks, not in 2022. Bush's shock and awe hitting Baghdad don't compare...
