I was also well aware of Fiona Hill. Both they and those around them were aware that even when they were trying to keep a low profile, anything they did or said could very quickly escalate and become "the story".

Out on an exercise walk this morning, had a chat with McDonald's manager. They are not yet open (but will be soon). She seemed very on-the-ball - has spoken with council and police. Car park will be split into lanes. People who cannot get into car park will be directed away. They will have to...

Yes - I know the plates can be, and are, misleading. But my rule-of-thumb is based on observation. Half C-reg at those times when we expect lowest numbers of tourists/second-homers - something like late January. And it is very approximate.

Hot from the grapevine. Well, not that hot! Seems that at Asda (and, I think, other supermarkets which deliver) they are seeing increasing numbers of people ordering have card addresses in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Glasgow, etc. This goes along with my rule-of-thumb about car...

Glad you posted that - I have been thinking it was me skim reading and not really taking it in. But you are right. The wording is wrong.

Bike stand for 2.6 MTB tyres

This is what I made: Could do with being slightly wider - the bike needs to be pretty straight in. Also, some of that timber is biggern than 63x38. It holds the front wheel very securely. I had no idea how well it would work - just created out of near-scrap pieces. I am sure anyone could...

It is claimed that the land registry says Cummings is joint owner. However, as of today, Mr Cummings is still shown as the registered owner of the property along with his parents and another family member. Therefore, Cummings trip was more of a journey to his second home, than it was out of a...

There are many things Johnson hasn't done in his career. Build a garden bridge is one. But lie is something he has most certainly done.

When people suggest Dominic Cummings "only" looked after his family, remember there are still other outstanding issues: Government fails to distance Dominic Cummings from sex discrimination case Boris Johnson aide could be personally liable in tribunal case brought by sacked adviser...

In my book, people are bonkers. I'd be ill if I had to stand out in this sun for four hours as reported from several branches. Warrington was queueing to the M62.

Bike stand for 2.6 MTB tyres

I made one out of CLS timber (I think 63x38 but might have other sizes as well) and a few screws. I am lucky enough to have a 255mm mitre saw which makes short work of cutting and angles. If I wanted to use it for washing as well as a dry stand, I'd put a few layers of varnish or other...

Last figures I have seen - yesterday - were possibly up to 8%. But I agree that some aspects give the impression of greater numbers hence reduced new infections (fewer targets being prime).

We do have problems with that approach, though. If people want to appear ill, what is to stop them lying? If people want to appear NOT ill, what is to stop them lying? There will be all sorts of issues where there are perceived advantages to individuals to lie either way. Unfortunately...

Whatever the percentage (and 12% is nonsense), the key point being ignored is that it is falling but we are not seeing significant increases to the rest of the world to replace those exports.

A fairly new test is claiming to work on saliva alone and to be getting positive results from people who would slip under the radar with existing testing - asymptomatic and earlier after infection. Also seems to be pretty simple to process - changes colour after a few simple steps. It is a...
