    Gocycle G1 Controller Wanted

Me too, and disappointed at no unique spare for such an expensive e-bike still on sale less than 9 years ago when the G2 was introduced. Foolish of Gocycle since it could trigger Caveat Emptor warnings online. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Another Lockdown? Perhaps Britain will close for business each winter. If only we could hibernate, curl up in bed fast asleep for four months. We could afford Brexit then. .

As Danidl says, that could be by the VED (road tax) element. We used to have that of course, based on capacity, but that was dropped not long ago in favour of a single car rate, possibly in anticipation of e-cars which don't have a motor cubic capacity. Once again showing the authorities look...

I fully agree. We already have the annual MOT inspection with mileage recorded after three years on the road so it will be simple to adapt that by having owner declared mileage at the end of each of the first two years when renewing VED (road tax). Then an additional compulsory MOT for any...

Agreed with some supermarkets but not my more recently built ones. And I think doubled electricity prices will focus minds much more soon. .

Some of us in here regularly warned this would happen, even before the 2016 vote. The growing loss of services with reducing goods exports to the EU could leave us in a desperate situation before long. Looking on the bright side though, getting by on sovereignty will solve our obesity problem. .

No problem. One third of the earth collecting some solar energy at any one time is 170 trillion square metres. .

The world's biggest skid pan, especially when wet! We are going to see a big expansion of solar panels on roofs as electricity gets dearer. Take all the more modern supermarkets and shopping malls. They have vast roof areas, ideal for solar to suppy their lighting, air conditioning and...

And it's going to get a whole lot better since we know there are already very large increases in the cost of electricity coming to cover the cost of infrastructure growth, nuclear and renewables. The guarantee of 19p per unit at source to EDF for Hinckley Point when it comes on stream makes...

I also think there's a risk of a third wave. But I think the government is between a rock and a hard place, they just can't afford any more lockdown, the financial implications are getting too serious. So perhaps they think it's worth taking the risk of toughing it out and hoping the express...

This is one of the problems with taxing the electricity for e-cars. The multi point charging stations for them being built now have vast roofing over the whole site covered with up to the minute solar panels and some might be having more on land alongside soon. In addition they have battery...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Mileage charge will be easy to apply to e-cars since they all have sophisticated software with mileage stored apart from the odometer record. Administratively all it would need is for the MOT mileage record to be used, with self recording for the first two years when taxing and illegal to sell...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Electricity prices we already knew will increase to pay for nuclear and further green measures, but that will be as much as consumer can stand. For example, EDF have been guaranteed 19 p per unit for Hinckley point and that's the price at source, which equates to at least 25 to 30 p per unit...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Another silly scare story on this subject. Electricity won't suddenly greatly increase in price because it can't. Instead there will be other changes in taxation to compensate for the loss of fossil fuel revenue. In any case the change to electric cars and vans will be gradual over the next...

No Pearlies during lockdown, but see this link from 2019 Clean Air Act and zones means no fires, so no chimneys to be swept. Children banned from working, it's all about Human Rights and Human Riots here now. .
