Might be verrrryyyy slow, but today realised we were so very lucky not to have bought a car in the last registration year. After all, who would like having a plate CV19 xyz? (Our Welsh plated car is a CV - south-west Wales - plate, but different year.)

But what you can do is discuss what will happen if you suddenly remove controls entirely, or do it step by step. There will be huge impacts on things like road transport fuel usage. Restaurants and cafes trying to open up and needing supplies. Holiday insurance. And on and on. Lots and lots of...

Never have liked Piers Morgan, but he has a point... The Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has defended his abrasive interview with the care minister Helen Whately this morning (see 9.23am) - and called for her to be sacked.

Years ago, we had a breadmaker and it was, in its way, quite impressive. But I was always frustrated that we had to choose one of their programs. I prefer a long, slow, cool rise. They tend to be short, fast, warm/hot rises. I'd go further and say that I would like a dough-maker with...

But you can't say "We don't know when or how it will end." for weeks (months?), then, suddenly and without any planning, "OK - it's over." I didn't interpret Starmer as saying that he expected a calendar date in response to "When?", more a "We will move to unlock when ... new cases drop/deaths...

There is one thing reproducing faster than coronavirus, lies. We have already covered what Helen Whately, the care minister, said in interviews on Sky News and BBC Breakfast (see 7.57am), but Whately had a tougher time when questioned by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain. One of the issues...

There is much craziness in that area. If they fail to convince us that it doesn't do things we might not want it to, people won't install it. Even if somehow it became compulsory, and I can't see that happening, people would switch their phones off, at least when they might be doing something...

If I have got this right, a new ventilator design works, has been approved by MHRA and is being manufactured. But was not one that the UK government thought to order in their thousands. A ventilator made in Wales that could potentially save thousands of lives has now been approved by the UK...

If true, this will be extraordinarily damning. Does the government really want SNP and PC to increase their votes - massively? As the Daily Record reports, a firm called Gompels, which makes PPE (personal protective equipment), has got a notice on its website saying that it can only sell...

That is entirely possible. I find it difficult to see anything in the rules which permits that sort of relocation. So, not so much a get at her for being with him, but yet another way in which the apparently ultra-simple, ultra-strict rules get massaged or bent.

I think the MHRA are putting a huge amount of effort into validating them and verifying they are suitable. I suspect they are grossly under-staffed in this area as the speed and number of devices being assessed are greater than usual.
