    Brexit, for once some facts.

Except that she cannot. Bercow has ruled it out. The options are narrowing. 1. Do nothing .. crash out 2. Seek extension ,3 months , then crash out 3. Seek extension 2 years EU says no. Crash out. 4. Revoke A50,.. disgruntled 30 to 60% of HoC ..vote of confidence by Labour.. new election...

But remember the EU only prepared to offer one,to fill technical conditions. It they believe,as I do,that stopping Brexit is in both UK and EUs interest. Why would they?.

The backstop was never the issue. Anyone who thinks it was is fudging the issue. What chance now of an emergency motion to revoke?.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think not.. The choice now is crash out or revoke. While this increases the chance of a crash out very considerably, which is not a result I desire, I am happy that at least one person in the HoC can make a principled decision. I suspect he was swayed by the logical speech of that MP a few...

Obviously irony is not one of your talents. You don't recall banner headlines showing the judges of your courts being branded traitor . Selective memory is wonderful.

Fair point about the ISIS people. On a rare occasion, I find myself in agreement with Mr Trump. These people should all be repatriated, and then subjected to whatever legal processes necessary. .. Where it is determined that they have broken laws.

I would doubt that that vote would be held this week.

You mistake world weary cynicism for actual advice. Note I was applauding his rectitude, not condemning it. As someone who has always tried to do the right thing, I can appreciate his position.

With respect, I expect that you are a decent law abiding citizen. People with deeper pockets and less morals invariably get around these petty obstacles. Money is powerful lubricant..even better than WD-40 on a seized cable. Particularly if one is discreet.

But back to the substance. Having listened to many of the contributions in the HoC ,my view is that the Backstop is irrelevant, misdirection and a smokescreen. The figures I presented of 30,30,30,10 are still in my opinion broadly correct. There will be no additional guarantees from the EU...

I am sorry to disagree but at every treaty and almost every EU directive, the UK Parliament had a veto. It could at any stage refuse, or demand that it be put to its people. It had that level of control, as indeed had every other of the mixture of republics and kingdoms comprising the EC,EEC,EU...

I agree with Johnathan.. Remaining in the EU is remaining in a slightly flawed organisation. But an organisation which can and must be reformed..a little. Leaving on the WA terms is more flawed, both because of the damage it does to the UK economy and EU,and it removes the POTENTIAL of the UK...

By the word conned do you mean" convinced" or do you mean" lied to ". .The past is another country, and trying to figure out the thought processes of 50 years ago, extremely challenging. There may well have been Europhiles, who dreamed of the possibility of travelling from a Spain to Italy...
