Hopefully Flecc, but I always distrust this kind of change, and I know the German bike manufacturers in particular have been lobbying for this for some time now. For those interested in stats, during a trip to Holland last month our new dealer informed me that during May and June of last year...

    Here's a Numpty Question!

Thanks Flecc, I can imagine the fallout from the fragmentation trials must have been horrific, I hope none of the little so and so's hurt themselves!

Forgot to say, for those who don't know, the EU imposes a 48.5% "anti dumping tariff" on top of the 6% duty and 20% VAT on bikes coming out of China. This means that an electric bike bought in China for £1000.00 would cost about £1900.00 as it lands in the UK, if this goes ahead. (plus...

Not at all Eaglerider, I agree. However I think this is more likely to be because of the pressure European bicycle "manufacturers" have been putting on Brussels not to exclude electric bikes from the dumping tariff already on pedal cycles being bought out of China. Regards David

    Back wheel puncture

Thanks for your input Goryl We already do this on the Alpinos, I will now implement this on all new Wispers. Best regards David

It's very difficult to get anyone to divulge such sensitive information for obvious commercial reasons. I would imagine that the cheaper brands will be selling in much greater numbers than the high end bikes, this was borne out in BEBA's latest poll. The commodity code has recently changed on...

    Back wheel puncture

I have just finished reading this thread with a lot of interest. Would another electrical connector near to the motor wheel be helpful? Best regards David

    Here's a Numpty Question!

I have just spoken to Wisper support re tyres. apparently we used to get complaints about punctures, but this problem seems to have stopped since introducing the new e-bike range. Has anyone using Kenda e-bike tyres noticed a difference? We keep looking at Marathons but my feeling is if it...

    Here's a Numpty Question!

Thanks Flecc, I ride mine at 70psi, that's a good point re punctures so far (touch wood) since I started running at 70psi, I have not experienced one! However that may also be down to the new Kenda, e-bike tyres we are using they have thicker walls than normal tyres and have both Kevlar and...

    Advice on first pedelec

Thanks Burnsyslad for investing in a Wisper! I hope you have years of enjoyment from it! I was interested to read that you went for the 705se/sel, it is a superb machine and due to the oversized down tube, the frame very rigid and feels very much like a cross bar bike. Sorry about the wait...

    disposing dead batteries

I will check, but I believe the current situation to be ALL electric bike suppliers that sell more than 250kg of batteries a year (50-150 bikes depending on the battery) must have an end of life policy on their power packs and are legally obliged to offer a disposal method that is free of charge...

They (not me!) fell off my bike

I am absolutely delighted you are enjoying your Wisper Davanti, thanks for the business! The sel is a corker my favorite Wisper thus far. Unfortunately, I too have not got a clue what the caps are! I strongly suspect they are packaging of some description. I have emailed Dick in Shanghai...

    E-bike kits - availability

I agree Lynda this is very disappointing for all and I apologise for that. I am particularly upset with the situation having spent many 10's of thousands and an incredible amount of time developing the system! However until we can guaranty that the system is fool proof and can secure public...

    E-bike kits - availability

OK guys, to stop any further speculation. The DaaHub kit was trialed in the UK last year and although it there were some issues that needed to be sorted out before the system could be launched. Anthony, from NZ is the designer of the system and is continuing trials in NZ only, Anthony is...

Folding electric - Wisper 806 or Brompton?

Hi BCM, thanks for the glowing report and image! I do agree though, there are lighter and easier folders available for popping on and off trains. Although I take my 26" 905sel with me when traveling by train and have absolutely no problems, I would not take it during the rush hour! The...

    Towing a tent and caravan.

Ha, certainly wasn't! This was a publicity stunt by ETA and the guy in the bed is Yannick Read, I m not sure of his height but I would say he was at least 6'. ETA sell very comprehensive electric bike insurance, it's not cheap but if anyone needs it they can get it through our web pages with a...

    Any ideas how come?

It's very tricky Dave, we have run a few competitions now and they normally work out well, we also say "no cash value" and "cannot be sold on public auction sites" in the small print. Even so two bikes have been sold immediately on ebay, could we go legal? maybe. Would it be worth the agro...
