Vaccine delivery to the EU: AZ has supplied fewer than 12 million shots to the EU. [9-March] I can't see where the citation of 15 million doses in the cupboard come from. QUOTE: To be sure, AstraZeneca has certainly under-delivered to the EU. The company planned to provide between 80 million...

Where did you get your facts from? Up to the end of last week, France received 9.3 million doses (Pfizer + AZ), all used except 1.2 million doses in reserve and that includes Pfizer.

totally unjustified. France is a couple of months behind us at the moment and will catch up rapidly in 2-3 months.

Does it include Pfizer stock? Quote the link if you can. their population: 512,596,403 15M / 512M = 3% At the beginning of the vaccination, we have stock of 20+ million doses for 65 million people. Compare the two.

they have supply problem like we do here. AZ delivered something like 40% of projection. The reason? UK buys most of the entire UK output, 2 million doses a week. If the UK production were shared, we'd get half and they get half, our immunisation would be reduced by a third in the last 3 months...

My shop is closed most of the last 12 months. Schools are closed half of the year. I did not go to hospital/my GP surgery/eye clinic/my dentist for the whole year. The main activity at the top of Southend High Street is a queue of Deliveroos. you can see the effect on government borrowing figures.

we won't and we can't. We need their Pfizer. We don't produce enough AZ here to meet our own need. Pfizer makes up half of our requirement until the end of the year. To suggest that the EU hates our success shows that we have a chip on our shoulder.

that's excellent result but we don't know for sure how much of it is due to lockdown and how much to immunisation. BJ times the vaccination well, just in time for May election and before the economy is fully released. The comparison with the EU is not rational, they have not locked down...

as I understand, there are 3 main steps in making the Pfizer vaccine: produce the plasmids with e-coli, extract and purify the mRNA and encapsulation of the purified mRNA in nano sized fatty shells. The first step involves cell culture and takes months, the second weeks and the last step days...

the Astra Zeneca vaccine is produced using a more complicated process. They rely on cell cultures. AZ themselves don't have much experience in this field so when they try to scale up production, it takes much longer than they expected. Also, the problem they have at their plant in Belgium added...

I think the explanation is simpler than that. Our hospitals have been hit so hard by Covid to the point that non urgent CT scans are much delayed - current waiting lists run into millions. Countries that reported CVST cases don't have queues at their scanners. I am usually interested in cell...

The EU will receive over 200 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine in the next 3 months. People in Germany for example can choose Pfizer if they so wish.

In Germany, 1.6 millions got given the AZ vaccine, eight people have been diagnosed with CVST within about two weeks of vaccination. Normally 1 to 1.4 cases would have been expected during that time. That's 6-8 times higher than the number expected. We use 12 million doses of AZ - if the level...

strange imagination. I really have difficulty to see any justification to claim of reputation damage. There is a possible link to DIC and CVST and it is applicable to Pfizer too, albeit that the study starts with AZ. You should know that before some EU countries stopped the AZ vaccine, UK...
