E-scooters 'are five times safer than bikes' - Study by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

they said in their studies that 94% of the accidents don't involve the hire e-scooters, so they have to make guesses. Their first guess is 20,000 e-scooters are from the hire companies, 730,000 from other sources. I don't know how they come up to this estimate. Only accidents involving hire...

    Help! Torque arms

you have to fit a pair of torque arms, so it does not matter (the torque on the motor axle is clockwise on the left side, anticlockwise on the right side) but for aesthetics, the middle picture looks better than the first.

    Strong kit for enduro conversion

that's not much of a problem. The motor is tied to the frame with a mounting bracket so does not rely on tightening the M33 nuts to resist the rotation when power is applied (the anti-torque bracket has a bolt going between the chainstays where you usually fit a two legged propstand).

if you are going to use a secondary chain then the 48V TSDZ2 may be worth a look. Assuming that you ride on private land, there is this solution from GNG, they do also road legal kits:

yes, it is. It's not an offroader but it has Suntour NEX25 65mm front suspension and comfortable 2" wide tyres. There is a member's review here: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/woosh-santana-3-review.41725/

If your wheel is 26", I think you need 217mm 13 gauge. Check with a ruler to be sure.

Hi Helen The Santana 3 would suit your height but is a step through bike - maybe of interest still? Sorry for Tony's misunderstanding - I think he needs to go to Specsavers! Hatti

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

agreed. the torque sensor is not so great on steep hills unless your bike has a full throttle, as the motor's output increases with your input, you have to pedal harder to get more out of the motor. Cadence sensor lets you choose how hard you pedal, so it's an advantage if you have an impaired...

The Woosh Rambletta would be perfect for your height. As you are 5ft5-5ft6 tall, both the Rambletta with suspension fork and Rambletta with fixed fork will suit. The Rambletta with suspension fork has the handlebars about 7cm higher than the Rambletta with fixed fork. Your riding position on the...

I don't know for sure but the article talks about a cheap upgrade of a previous weapon. The first bit is it's fitted to a plane and has a good autonomous GPS guidance system, then a second charge exploding below the waterline after impact, like a traditional torpedo but released at much higher...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

It seems to me that the 'natural feel' is more of the product of current control as opposed to speed control when the sensor is a simple cadence sensor. With current control, the amount of extra push you get from the electronics is steady, based on your selection of the assist level. This...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

I take it that you mean a choice of gear ratios/speed because lots of hub motors have already got a built in reduction gear box but only one fixed reduction ratio (e.g. 5:1). Xiongda makes several, but only two speed though: NEW Double-speed Motor, NEW Double-speed Motor direct from Suzhou...

I disagree. Cuba is only next door, communist and lives in peace. If WW3 happens with China, the probable cause is unemployment in the USA caused by cheap Chinese goods.

it wasn't that long ago that the West were even looking into Russia joining the EU and NATO. What/where would the world be if Putin did not happen and Russia did just that?

we fit now a new DH sensor that is clever enough to sense which way the magnet disc it is facing. You can flip the disc, it works that out by itself.

I watched 'Anatomy of a Scandal' on Netflix last night. The main character is James Whitehouse, Oxford educated, member of the Blue Boats Crew and the Libertines club (modelled on the Bullingdon). It's pretty much sterotypical of those surrounding BJ and BJ himself. His main trait of character...
