Here is my experience with BMS Battery

The bargain is not that great, Frank. If you take the cost of the BPM kit, the bike, the bill from Maplin for small parts - you would end up with a Eurasian bike that costs you more than the Woosh Sirocco!

**WINNER!** Barclays TakeOneSmallStep.co.uk (Stephen Britt) - Power Assistance Kits

Bonjour Oiseaux, like with most inventions, I believe Stephen's pedals can be improved. I reckon the current models would deliver about 10W per pedal. Its best feature is the power to weight ratio. Its fundamental weakness is to rely on the participation of the knee and thigh joints which put a...

Article: Stephen Britt talks to Pedelecs about his electric pedal invention

Stephen estimated 100W power assistance. Assume that each down stroke will take about 1 second (30 rpm). Thus: Torque = (100 W / 2 x pi)/1s = 15.8Nm/s Assume that the radius of the pedal is 0.06m, the upward force exerted on the pushing foot will be: F = 15.8kgf/(0.06m/sin(x)) with x...

    Ego boost blacktrail conversion kit

hello Frank, these bikes may not need that kind of power (that you suggest) to do the stunts on the video. I reckon 700W sustained, 1500W peak for 3 seconds should be enough.

Where to purcharse a folding light and fast bike in the UK?

cwah: the Busettii Eco advert says that it has a 52V 10AH LiFeMgPO4 battery weighing just 3.5kgs (7lbs). This is about 30-35% higher in usable energy density than most LiFePO4. The addition of magnesium cannot increase the energy density, it only improves the deep discharge behaviour (to near...

Maybe the Bosch bike for me.....

Kalkhoff does not suit my style - still looking. Cannondale I like but is too expensive for what they are. I'd like something cheap (may not be the right word), as long as it's 100% reliable.

Where to purcharse a folding light and fast bike in the UK?

In the Cycle to work, your employer buys and pays for the bike. You hire the bike from your employer and pay monthly rent. At the end of the hire period, they may (or not) sell it to you at much reduced price. Will they buy it (a bike that has no EN15194 and VAT) for you on ebay? Back to...

Maybe the Bosch bike for me.....

Yes, I know. My son worked in Germany for a time. Over there, they have tools for everything. They also have zero tolerance for defects, but it's not universal. I wonder how much we are prepared to pay for exoticism and for that set of decals on the bike tubes. It's nothing to do with sense, the...

Maybe the Bosch bike for me.....

I didn't say it! you did! you are a wicked old man! But seriously, I should go and set up ebike assembly business in Germany. I'd take a road bike, add a conversion kit and roll it in. It's not so much as Vorsprung durch Technik - it's more Deutschland uber alles. People trust that made in...

Maybe the Bosch bike for me.....

If (when) I have an ebike, I would like it to look like a normal bike as much as possible. Sadly, the battery gives the game away, especially when mounted within the triangle (perhaps with the exception of water bottle batteries).
