    theft of electric bikes

And it's not the only example of UK police failing to act of cycle theft. Here in London there was a case where they even didn't act against someone known to be a fence for stolen bikes with numbers of them in his back garden. And member cwah suffered the police barely doing anything practical...

Ebike charging using Street EV chargers for electric cars

I think the problem is one of frequency of use. It's one thing to set it up with a pub or cafe, but if they then don't see anyone coming in to charge or that happening so infrequently they think it a dud scheme and take down the sign. It really needs the sort of strong backing that the huge...

On a road with heavy traffic! It will never happen though. Cycling here is still a majority male pursuit but probably over half of all new drivers are female, the majority having never learnt to cycle. As with everything else these days, a decision on such a proposal will go their way. .

Ebike charging using Street EV chargers for electric cars

Way back in 2011 two of our members started to set up a new scheme called Cyclecharge, registered the company and with the help and donations from members started to set up charge points based on various commercial premises like cafe's, pubs etc making available 13 amp sockets for e-bikers own...

It will allow the French to fish in UK waters, just as they wanted. But true to type Boris will insist that is not what was agreed, just as he did with the departure agreement. The Mail and Express will pick up the bandwagon of insisting the French are just being duplicitous again in saying it...

Our Croydon University Hospital was featured on TV as the first in the UK to receive and cold store the Pfizer vaccine on 5th December. It was forecast that with enough received, the NHS key staff, care home survivors and the over 80s in the community of our borough could receive their first...

Oh I seem to have messed up!

There's some exaggeration about the risks of stretching alloy frames, you shoudn't have any trouble gaining 9mm or so. I've never had any qualms about stretching in the way shown below to swap a tube. This is on a 26" wheel alloy frame Giant Lafree and you can see from the 10 mm spindle that...

This mainly affects the south east of Kent and the M20. I'm on the south-east London/Kent border and it isn't affecting our region, traffic has been moderate except the odd known regular delay spots. Our supermarkets were dead yesterday but got very busy this morning with queues around the...

It was 4000 beds but with two mortuaries, demonstrating the authorites are realistic at times. The Nightingales with mortuaries included were always a waste of money, obviously intended as holding pens pending death for the excess of Covid-19 patients over hospital capacity. .

It's the king prawns and scampi we import. We don't produce enough of them and the Orientals farm all kinds of prawns far cheaper than our wild caught ones. .

I posted a few days ago that we in South Croydon had only just reached the bottom of the green at 51 and haven't had a Covid problem at all in this south of the borough, despite the government's nonsensical excessively wide area classificationas tier 4 now. But as I warned we're shortly about...

As does vast swathes of London as clearly shown. Three hotspots have long been in evidence, North Kent and South Essex each side of the Thames estuary and on the west side of London associated with Heathrow airport. The rest of these three counties have been well controlled and relatively...

    theft of electric bikes

I've found them useless. I did fit a 110 dB one on one of my bikes: But with it's fiddly controls I set it off accidentally outside the supermarket. It took me a while struggling to silence it, meanwhile all the hordes of shoppers took absolutely no notice of the racket, most not even...
