it was cold and Biden deliberately tried to turn down the volume. Perhaps the real celebration will start after 100 days when Covid recedes sufficiently.

Sage gives advice, BJ waits for the Telegraph to suggest what to do then send Whitty & Van-Tam on TV to explain why. They are not hired to contradict their boss. That's all there is to it.

Sage members may be independent but Whitty & Van-Tam are hired scientists/doctors like hired lawyers. They are paid to front the briefings. Do you think a lawyer would refuse to defend someone if he suspect the guy is guilty?

I realise that MHRA authorised 4-12 weeks between the first and second dose (AZ) but my guess is they are under pressure to do our government bidding. The AZ vaccine should be approved by EMA soon, before the end of the month. Let's wait for their conditions of approval.

It's an interesting idea and they are working hard on it but I can't help the feeling that his scheme is a peashooter. Every time some lab claims a new record on plasma temperature and stable time, the goal post seems to move a little farther. Still, good luck to the FLF's team. They do very...

interesting idea, perhaps some companies will do that. Only problem I can see at the moment is Covid vaccine does not live long outside the fridge. https://www.europeanpharmaceuticalreview.com/news/134469/new-microneedle-vaccine-shows-promise-in-pre-clinical-trials/

he does at times lend a hand to support the government's strategy. But on the issue of extending from 3 weeks to 12 weeks, you are looking at about 10 million more people in tier 2 getting the first jab before March. It's good if you are in tier 2, not so good if you are in tier 1. While deaths...

albeit I expected that, I was surprised to read that those who had received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine had a six- to 12-fold increase in antibodies That will put some old people at risk if they believe they can receive visits after being vaccinated. One out of 4 covid deaths are...

of course not. Hospitals are good for the Pfizer vaccines, doctors surgeries and pharmacies are good for the over 80, contractors can be hired to go to the care homes and to visit those who can't get out of their homes. After that top tier, we can have the self booking system like we do with...

the 3000 was given in your example, you said: A more sensible approach is to prioritise the available doses to doctors surgeries instead of big companies cashing in the £12.58 per jab fees.

that's not the case at the moment though. Our government decides who gets called and where the vaccines go. If 7000 people turn up where 10,000 doses were prepared, whose fault is that?

that makes sense. It takes at least a week for antibodies to appear, two weeks to reach the peak of first shot protection then the protection begins to fade away until the second shot. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/how-long-before-coronavirus-vaccine-works_l_5fd6c66fc5b6218b42ea3760

the outcome of option 2 depends very much on the subject. If he/she is very old, a dose of covid may kill him/her even after the first dose. On top of that safety threshold, the efficacy of the AZ is affected by their immune reaction to the adenovirus that is used to carry covid's genome. The...

many thanks for pointing that out. DPD have just restarted their European routes. I should be able to ship the kits to EU customers now but have left that facility out of the webpages for the time being. We'll deal with a few customers informally until the system is tested.

this time, it's a proper pre-production run, so it is much more likely. The main issue is the availability and cost of Germanium ($1240/kg, Lithium: $10-$11/kg). Replacing some graphite with Germanium is going to be expensive.
