"Heal the divisions" whilst positively imposing divisions of its own. The obvious UK from the EU. Plus NI from rest of UK especially with the Irish Sea border. Scotland from the rest of the UK (even if not granted a referendum). Even Wales has heard more about "indycurious" attitudes than in...

Sorry to repeat, but Fintan wrote: It is striking that the justification for setting aside £120m of public money for a festival of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 2022 has changed in parallel with this shift. When Theresa May announced it in 2018, it was meant “to showcase what makes our...

Considerably higher turnout (as a percentage) for the referendum than the mayoral election. Even more voted Remain. More voted for Kahn, as a percentage and as an absolute number, in first, second and overall, than voted for BJ when he won. Having a transferable vote system can make a large...

That it took a ferret to find this out - rather than being openly declared and explained - seems typical of recent governments. Even if no-one else said anything, she should have admitted/claimed the issue and her not doing so is a strong indicator that she she not be involved in the inquiry...

Even the Telegraph says: Politics latest news: Downing Street pulls plug on Big Ben Brexit bongs And that is after Andrea Leadsom signed up to donate £10. As for me, I can't help thinking of this: Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone...

Note that the paper has learned the ministers are blaming... NOT that there really is a such a plot! And, even if there were, they (two PMs and an HoC) have had plenty of time to do something about it. Prime Minister Theresa May has said "it can't be right" that the famous bongs will not be...

I know my (petrol) car progressively shuts things down - the longer it is left, the more is shut down. Never really taken much notice of exactly what but sometimes, after it has not been used for several days, things start up differently. I take that as evidence of it having reduced its battery...

A few months ago we received notification that our local substation (might not be the exact term - but some grid connection/transformer equipment) is overloaded, and is reaching end of life and needs replacement. Until it is replaced, we might have supply issues - though they hoped to do the...

I'm not at all anti. I want one. But I responded simply with the reality at the moment. I know that local chargers are not very important if I can charge at home. But I'd like to know that, if needed, I could do a quick charge somewhere not too far away.

Had to look up the nearest BP - actually only about three miles or so. (Often one of the most expensive in the area for petrol - they seem to push prices up whenever there might be some vistors around.) There is also a Polar a few miles up the road. Next nearest is much, much further away...
