    To Kit Or To Woosh?

didn't your bike come with an LCD? the speed limit on the controller has nothing to do with real achievable speed, it's simply when you lift up the rear wheel and throttle to the max. Don't start replacing bits on the bike already! you are not going to stop once you start upgrading!

    Battery connectors - extension?

if you don't have a high power soldering iron, remember heat rises. Clamp the wire vertically then keep the soldering iron tip roughly at the bottom end where you want the solder to reach. Keep heating and apply the solder wire at the top end where you want the solder to go. After about 30...

    Zoom mechanical disc brake question

+1 for d8veh's suggestion of hydraulic upgrade. hydraulic brakes are not luxury if you ride over 15mph. You'll never want to go back to cable operated brakes again.

that seems genuine enough. if he's large, then it's not the bike for him but your weight is ideal for the Burisch, so, well done. You need to hold on to that receipt, Burisch will want it if you need support from them. maybe you come back to the idea of building your own kit in 6 months. By the...

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

it's not as easy as it looks. Manufacturers are not going to make their code public. 1. which controller can you reprogram? 2. do you know which MCU your controller uses? 3. how are you going to access the I2C bus? 4. where are you going to find the API for the system? 5. the LCD's internal...

    Good value for money?

I suspect it's down to volume. mind you, most e-bikes don't cost as much as yours. What bothers me more is not the buying price but the depreciation per mile, cheaper for cars than for ebikes.

    Zoom mechanical disc brake question

Usually, it's the flex in the outer cable or the worn crimps at the end of the outer cable that make the brakes feel spongy. You can check if the outer cable moves when you squeeze the brakes. two factors improve disc brakes performance: degreasing the rotor and make sure that the caliper is...

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

all the LCDs work the same way ash. power control is in the programming of the controller which sends only codes in digital format so it either works or not at all. Also, Lishui is about the most respected company for their controllers.

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

you aleady know how to deal with the King Meter, all the LCDs cut the motor in the same way, when the speed reaches the limit, the LCD sends a code to the controller to cut power, so there is nothing more anyone can do. Regarding the battery cut out, if you are not pumping too much power through...

Looking to build my own bike to replace Woosh Sirocco CD.

the BMS on his bike trips at 20A, the controller on his bike is Lishui LSW-947 rated 14A max. so would also trip around 18A-20A. so ash has a problem with his CD because he's such a law abiding person that will always ride on public roads with speed limit on? well, in this case, building his...
