    Brexit, for once some facts.

A little laugh from the Telegraph: Between 2014 and 2020, both Cornwall and West Wales will receive over €1,000 (£800) per person from the EU Structural and Investment Fund - similar to that received by Romania and Bulgaria. The Scottish Highlands, East Wales and Tees Valley will all receive...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We have to keep coming back and correcting them don't we?... 1. the EU is forcing no one to do anything, the EU is enforcing it's rules of membership that the UK signed up to when joining. The UK decided to leave (well bits of it did), there is a written protocol (by a UK civil servant no...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Couldn't find the BS button so just called boring instead. You really are a little BSer aren't you now! 22% is the number for the far right in polls behind the PPE. PPE, social democrats and liberals could easily form a coalition that will govern the EU. What? You are english and you don't know...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It is the same problem everywhere - bad communication. The EU does not communicate effectively on what it does right. In one way it is encouraging because it means it isn't spending my money in publicity campaigns or whatever but in projects. Croatia entered the EU in 2013. EU parliamentary...

    Turning off motor going downhill

I used to a long time ago. Now I either don't bother because I am doing more than 25 km/h and the motor is off anyway or I choose assistance level 0. That way I always have a speedo and an odometer. I don't have to wait for it to come back on at the next climb.

    Orbea Gain auxiliary battery

But that content often isn't free, it is paid for by advertising, some of the guys running those review sites make a decent living from publishing on the internet. And many reviews are published "for free" on the web sites of magazines which are also available in dead tree format. "Proper"...

    Orbea Gain auxiliary battery

There was talk on here of hacking a Gain to add a DIY battery when the bike first appeared. https://www.bike-eu.com/home/nieuws/2018/11/automotive-supplier-mahle-acquires-spanish-e-bike-drive-maker-10134781 The problem has become a German one. I am pretty sure the heat on ebikemotion from...

Which makes one wonder why they have a populist extreme right political party gaining popularity (26%)... Maybe it is the weather? More likely good old fashioned racism driven by the fear of being "overrun" by migrants.

Bosch Active Line Plus vs Bosch Performance Line CX

Because of the gearing, nothing to do with the motor. Never tried but it is pretty easy to imagine and I just have to watch others around me ride one to see that it isn't. Almost anything will do 32 km/h unrestricted including my Mxus XF08 rear hub motor. A de-restricted Bosch, Yamaha or other...

Bosch Active Line Plus vs Bosch Performance Line CX

That will depend on your gearing, I pedal very easily past the cut off to 32 km/h, which seems to be my flatland speed, on the GSM powered bike with either chainwheel. Over and beyond air resistance means you have to adopt a different posture than sit up and beg. Last year I was even averaging...

Omnium Mini Cargo bike - what kit?

Look at the rear hub motors Woosh offers, they will work well for what you want to do. 451 is an unusual wheel size and 37 mm is a narrow tyre for carrying large loads. As it is a disk brake bike you could fit a more common 406 wheel but you probably won't get a Big Ben tyre in there...

How would we know, there has never been a communist government, anywhere, ever... Maybe they do work? But I can't see a country with so few egoists that it might work... Maybe in Scandinavia they could have a go.

    License for bikes ?

Yesterday coming home on the bridge I had a close encounter with a phone zombie. She was walking alongside a couple so three abreast I had no way of passing so I stopped. She almost walked into the front wheel before she noticed me (both headlights were on!) and almost jumped out of her skin...
