You suggested that: Then people will pay extra for the high Vit C ones - or not. But. They will have the choice. They WON'T have the choice if they don't know. You might not care. Many seem to consider oranges a good source of vitamin C and should be able readily to find out how much is...

You mentioned Dieselgate - I simply questioned whether or not that would likely be a factor in Nissan's calculations.

Which gets back to what I have already pointed out. We need labelling so we KNOW how much vitamin C is present (or at least, a reasonable likely range). Otherwise we end up relying on rumour and guesses. You only have a real choice if you can access the information.

However, Nissan have already made a big thing about the 2019 X-trail having hybrid propulsion. (I haven't found anything which says whether that would be diesel or petrol.)

Brexit bonus for Wales! When they install the Windsors in those caves. I guess they will also have been dusting the cobwebs off the National Gallery relocation plans - more caves in Wales. Or will it be salt mines in Cheshire? Who owns those caves now? Leaving the big question of how they...

I also suspect there are other issues which would impact the likelihood of reduced cost to consumers of oranges. * Increased cost of shipping. Instead of load at farm onto lorry, drive to UK depot, unload, it would have additional lorry-to-ship, transit in ship and ship-to-lorry. And is the...

At best it would be 16/116 less expensive. I suspect that companies importing oranges, who find that they are less expensive than EU oranges and also now without tariff, will be quite happy to charge just the same as for EU oranges and make a larger profit. One of the problems with changing to...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I suspect there is little possibility of importing fresh perishable food from outside the EU in important quantities - at least in the shorter term. For example, if we decide we will get lettuce from that major grower, the USA, I suspect it will have to be flown in. Is there sufficient air...

Lack of labelling means that we no longer have the choice of avoiding whatever is being discussed. We only have that choice when we can identify the process or ingredient.

I agree that most people do not obsessively read ingredient lists and other labelling information. Some of what appears in the press and what friends say is based on the information that appears on labels. I can imagine that if KFC supply CWC and state that on their menus, some people will...

Quite possibly guilty of both. Being intransigent when it might have made a difference and then turning coat when it appears the only option is hardly an impossible pair of allegations, is it?

He goes on about lower standards of production (lettuce or chlorine washed chicken or bromine-based flour conditioner) coming to the conclusion that we will not buy it if we don't want it. This is naive. We first would need to have clear labelling in order to be informed before making our...

A questioning, possibly rational, response might have been to ask if a significant number of E27 firms are considering shifting to the UK - whether as small satellite operations or wholesale. And let us know whether there are any? If it is pretty much all one-way, then that rather underlines...

I posted simply because I found it interesting that someone seems willing to suffer in order to reduce, or eliminate, immigration. Wanting no immigration is not necessarily racist and I absolutely did not say that he is a racist. It is, perhaps, worth reading through the whole article? Which...

How many times have we heard it is NOT about immigration? Yes, I do indeed wear neoprene boots for cycling. Comfortable. Relatively warm. Waterproof. They don't have that unbending feel that normal wellies have. In case you want to consider being just as silly, Aldi are offering them from Thursday (already can be ordered online). £19.99 Even if you...
