    Recommend me a cheap bike

I'd go for the Woosh Sirocco CDL, about same price (£799) as other wooshes, but easier to maintain than hub motors, nicely balanced weightwise and not so boring colour.

    Electric Transport-Charging Times-what am I missing.

local liquid metal storage batteries could be a near term solution for fast charging station. These batteries have immense potential and can be topped up whenever the energy cost is low. example: fast charging 500Kwh @ 30p = £15, bought from grid @ 15p = £7.50 profit per charge - it's not bad...

    Electric Transport-Charging Times-what am I missing.

We'll burn more fuel to generate electricity and less diesel on the road. ev shifts the polution out of our towns and cities, it does not change the overall power consumption.

    Bafang code name

I googled 'CST 36V250W 26' then: Bafang 36V 250W CST Click on the dropdown 'Voltage Motor Code RPM' - select the CST 36V250W26 then read the specs. Just to avoid single-sourcing info, I repeat the same with 3 more links. They all say 205RPM.

You get a lot better yield converting H2 directly to electricity with fuel cell than burning H2 in an ICE.

    Electric Transport-Charging Times-what am I missing.

as flecc pointed out, the problem is the power grid. You can easily transport chemical fuel around the country, a petrol station serves thousands of cars a day and fill £50 worth of petrol in a minute. That's a lot of power, about 20MW per car. To serve a similar amount of cars, you'll need a...

the only way to fast charge is via fuel cell. That's where the future of ev is.

Optibike SIMBB 29C now available for pre order

packing 50 cells into the motor casing isn't clever. Batteries are the most fragile component in an e-bike. You only need one cell out of the 50 in the pack to fail and the 'engine' has to be returned. It would cost a few extra dollars to separate the battery pack from the motor. The weight...

The shape of the motor (on the factory shelf) reminds me of the Chinese built 'ZF' crank motor that I looked at last year before going for the 8-Fun BBS01. The ZF has built in torque sensor, can reach 80NM @ 70 RPM - that is 586W. The ZF is very compact but requires frame modification. The BBS01...

    Continuous Rated Output

motors are generally quite reliable. If the noise was more or less the same over the last year, then it should remain so, I would not worry about it. I sealed my motor cable with silicon flexible sealant to make sure that water does not get inside.

    Throttle problem bafang bbs 02

did the throttle come with the kit? Can you undo the throttle connector and measure the voltage on 3 pins, motor side, using the minus battery terminal as ground? it looks like the controller is damaged in some way.

if I remember rightly, you've got the Life Cycle Sport 500W and we were playing a little guessing game some weeks back? I have no experience of it but if it worries you, you should check with Life Cycle. I never had a motor dying on me. I did replace a clutch unit on an 8-Fun before, a little...

    Motor Issue

turn the bike upside down and spin the (font) motor wheel backward to engage the planetary gear, listening to the gear noise. If there is a rasping sound then one of the nylon cogs may have been damaged. Spin the wheel forward and feel the drag. If there is a drag then the clutch is damaged. If...

Optibike SIMBB 29C now available for pre order

in the video you can see the motor on the shelf. It's in cylindrical shape. Presumably, the new kit uses the same motor with battery cells packed inside the alluminum casing. The owner also explains the 'derivative power control' as their algorithm to reduce power consumption by anticipating...
