Power has been cutting out for a few seconds when going up hill

You said the controller was warm, that rules out thermal cutoff. We need to know if the battery sags before you make any rash decisions. C5 can only go down to -1.5 IIRC which would be 23 A with a 35A controller.

Power has been cutting out for a few seconds when going up hill

"1. Cells - A grade cells to make sure batteries in high and full capacity" I would say your cells (Chinese A grade) are not up to delivering 20 Amps continuous for a longish period of time. The battery is sagging and slowly coming back up to charge. The other "buyers" live in flatter lands...

Can upgrade to lekkie ring wait a few weeks?

Nope, why would it? In fact it isn't the width of the cogs it is because there is a spacer on the hub which is an 8-9 speed hub as most are these days. The cassette is thus the equivalent of a cog further outboard.

Power has been cutting out for a few seconds when going up hill

What is the voltage reading on the LCD when you climb hills? Does it sag over 2v? Where did the battery come from? What cells are in it? What configuration 7P or 8P x 13S?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I had a couple of those landings: - one into Wellington where people in the terminal asked if anyone was hurt when we got out of the plane... - another into Christchurch which left me with a bruise on the inner thigh in the shape of the fingers of the rather attractive female passenger...

Fast hub conversion for 29er mountain bike

Nope. You want a geared hub.

Lightweight and stealthy to leave at train station

The hub you can buy direct from Xiongda and the battery will be a custom made one. If you are in the UK you are in luck there is a chap that does that very well for honest prices.

Can upgrade to lekkie ring wait a few weeks?

It helps if you have a 7 speed cassette spaced out from the hub like in my case. The chain only ever falls off the big chain ring onto the small one and always when changing gear on bumpy sections of road.

Can upgrade to lekkie ring wait a few weeks?

Depends on your bike and the chainline you will have. Do it if you aren't sure.

Power has been cutting out for a few seconds when going up hill

There are fins there si it has to be stick underneath the logic board side. I thought about screwing the mosfet side to the heat sink and 3D printing a housing to replace the aluminium one but Nealh's silicon paste will be my solution.

Lightweight and stealthy to leave at train station

I like your idea. A lot! A tiny Xiongda front hub motor that looks like a dynamo. A 2P10S battery for 6 or 8 Ah = 200+ Wh. What could go wrong!

Vespa will begin selling the first electric Vespa next month. I'm tempted. Despite my attitude towards the Italian government. 99 km range - translated into real world range 75 km, I can live with that especially if I can hack in a range extender :D

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The EU is acting in its role of rule enforcer, it did not set the tax rate which Ireland imposes on the US corporations who have their EU headquarters there, the sovereign Irish government fixed those rates. But if a corporation does not pay what they agreed to pay in taxes then the EU steps in...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

    1. It doesn't allow that, it doesn't have the mandate to intervene in any way. EU countries are sovereign when it comes to tax breaks to attract business. 2. I agree that the enforcement of fines for emissions is not enough in Europe. Remember however that the US is trying to bring down VAG...

He is thinking(?) of the commission perhaps. The EU commission for dummies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Commission Looks like a lot of voting goes into it's formation doesn't it? In fact the commissioners seem to be elected, how strange... "The procedural languages of the...

Commute Bike - Folding or solid frame?

They do fold up pretty flat. The best idea is to have a bag for them, railway staff can be a bit funny and in a bag is the only way to get one on a bus. Same size package, a bag is OK a bike isn't

Power has been cutting out for a few seconds when going up hill

In my case up upped the voltage to 44.4v from 36v and was seeing about 680 W instead of the usual 540 peak so it really doesn't take much to get it too hot. I am going to try a heat sink and if that doesn't work I'll do the same as you have done and trim the Amps back to 12.5 A, I need the extra...
