I agree with you. Even with an agreement, it is an agreement about how the process will go and, at the outside, a very temporary, short-term extension of membership. March-May 2019: Brexit day In theory, the UK could be out of the EU on 29 March 2019. Extending talks can only be done by...

The passage of time will often reveal things that need changing, updating, improving. That much is life. Going into brexit already threatening (or promising?) to change the agreement on which it was based is seems to be very different and very much less acceptable.

Whatever brexit is now or on 29/03/2019, it might well mean something else, indeterminate and unknown, in the future. OK sounds wonderful. Let's all vote for the never-ending turmoil and changes... Chequers deal could be undone after Britain leaves EU, claims Gove Environment secretary...

NZ has ever after felt shabbily treated - and understandably so. That event will never be forgotten in the relationship between UK and NZ.

Let us imagine, with due horror, that there is a CREEP (apt in this case). As we approach the presidential election, DT's horrible hands would be reaching out to his mobile to send such tweets with an uncontrollable action reminiscent of Dr Strangleove's arm. It is a truly appalling idea.

Let us hope that TM (or any PM of the day) somehow doesn't get to hear of this USA proposal: In future disasters, US citizens may receive messages on their phones directly from Donald Trump, as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) begins its testing of a system that allows the...

Just listening, admittedly rather half-awake, to a program about partition of India. Could be salutary to be reminded of the effects of that secession both at the time and thereafter. Of course, that partition was different in so many ways. Nonetheless, we should be so extremely careful to...

Just why would the DoT have tried, however ineptly, to make a side deal to avoid the issue? They wouldn't have done so unless there was at least some concern within the DoT.

I cannot think of a single export or import that is not going to be negatively affected, at least in a full leave situation. For a start, every single good will have to be classified under WTO rules (probably as well as EU rules). Whether, in the fullness of time, some imports and/or exports...
