    bafang mid-drive and akku connection

I think only the older ones have Andersons. The newer ones have bullet connectors, though they too can be loose.

The last one we had like that was a washer on the wrong side of the drop-out.

    Help with an electric problem

The display is probably faulty. It's had water in it or something like that. It works independently from everything else. When it doesn't stay on, it's because the CPU in it can't work. Your motor and controller work, so there's nothing wrong there that could cause the battery voltage to drop...

    sw-900 lcd

It is supposed to waterproof, but our Chinese friends can be a bit sloppy at work. In all the LCDs that I've seen full of water, the water went in where the cable comes out, so maybe put a bit of butyl bath sealant around the cable to double seal it. You can also protect it with a freezer bag...

Can you fit a throttle to a Bosch CX motor?

How good are you at hacking? It's possible to reprogram the walk assist speed so that the walk assist button works like a full-speed push-button throttle. Without hacking, you need the Bosch software, cable and password to do it.

    Help! Replacement battery for e-bike?

When you have a standard battery, like yours, it's cheaper to buy a new one than get it re-celled. The one above looks pretty good. Elife are a known seller, so you shouldn't get any problems with them

idiots guide to building a bike.

Any bike with disc brakes and a triangle frame with enough space for a battery is all you need. Older ones are generally easier to convert. On most rear suspension bikes, the suspension is in the triangle, which makes it difficult to mount the battery there. It's not so bad on large frames. You...

Fat, tall, old and unfit bike options

There isn't really anything on the market that would suit you. You'd need a custom build using something like a slow 500w MAC or BPM motor running at 48v and 25 amps, though that wouldn't be legal. 170kg is just too much for any legal bike.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

It might not be the complete solution, but look at London. There are a lot of cyclists there - probably more than anywhere else by proportion of commuters and general people travelling because it's just too expensive and inconvenient to use a car there. Basically, it's too convenient to use a...

    B&M dynamo lights

I chuckle every time I see dynamos mentioned on electric bikes. What is the sense in adding weight to take electricity from a battery to drive a wheel to generate electricity to work lights, when you can take the electricity straight from the battery without any complication and without any...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I know hundreds of people that already have that - many of them on this forum. The law already allows 17.1875 mph. Do you think that anybody is bothered about another 1 or 2 mph? How would anybody know that you've got it?

    Yosepower hub kits.

If you get a fierce vibration and or clunking from the motor, like the gears are broken or clutch slipping, it's a timing issue between the controller and motor. Sometimes, it'll happen at a particular speed or when under high load. I've never seen it only do it with no load. Unfortunately...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Make a note of your settings before changing anything. We pretty well understand what they all do, so if you mess up, you can always get help. P5 is a damping factor for the battery display. I think it's a length of time that it uses to average the battery voltage before displaying it. If your...

Cannot make my New Oxygen S-Cross MTB do more than 20mph.

Show a photo of your LCD to remind me which buttons it has. IIRC you have two speed limits on that one: One for the throttle and one for the pedal assist. Is yours an S-cross or Emate MTB?

    Help with an electric problem

When I run them without an LCD, I always jump the data wires - yellow to green or white. I don't trust those plugs that they supply. I don't think that that will solve your cutting out. it would be different if it were 5 or 10 minutes, but not half an hour or more. Next time it does it, check...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

Drag over the cut-off speed is nearly always an illusion. It's the difference between having 250w helping you and none. Each 1 kg of added mass makes approximate!y 1% difference to your pedal effort or 1% less speed, but only when going uphill. That's any positive incline no matter how slight...
