    Brexit, for once some facts.

they pay the volunteers a fat sum so they wll take the risk to be infected later with COVID19. Half of them are injected with Sarah Gilbert's vaccine, the other half with an approved vaccine (meningitis vaccine) that has nothing in common with CV. After a couple of weeks, both groups receive a...

you use blood plasma of those who were vaccinated to treat those who weren't.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it seems from your table that government is holding the number of new cases round about current level (5000-6000 new cases a day) . Basically, test enough to pick out those who are worst affected, the rest are told by NHS 111 Covid to stay at home. The downside of this strategy is a larger...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't see how Remdesivir is going to treat Covid19. It helps to slow down the replication of CV but there is no mechanism to target Remdesivir to most or all of the affected cells. The vaccine that Sarah Gilbert talked about on Marr's show targets the spike protein. Instead of attacking the...

it seems that there are still only two treatments for Covid19, oxygen and blood plasma of CV convalescents.

COVID19 is a very clever virus, it spreads silently while exhibiting no symptom and allows nearly 99% of its victims to survive and we currently can't remove it. It kills randomly so that nobody can feel completely safe. The worse aspect of it, not only we now have the complete genome in the...

    Conversion kits and the law

There will always be some area that is subject to some degree of interpretation - such as 'Does the LCD need to be password protected by the suppliers?' - but there is one sure thing, kits are pretty safe as long as people respect the 15mph speed limit.

    Convert Ridgeback Supernova - possible?

the Ridgeback Supernova is a nice bike to convert. You said you can pedal fairly fast - but have problem with hills. I would suggest the Tongsheng TSDZ2T with throttle. It has good torque (100NM max) , torque sensor, rides very much like German bikes but also a throttle as a backup for hills...

yes, relatively speaking. Sarah Gilbert is co-founder of Vaccintech. I read somewhere that they only need £100 Mils injection to develop their universal flu/Mers/Covid19 vaccine. I guess the long term payout is the licence for their modified virus vector.

if I understand correctly, the vaccine that the Oxford group is proposing is a mRNA vaccine. It's cheap and easy to produce but there are reasons why none of them has been approved. why do I have a bad feeling about this?

    Front hub kit spindle size?

if your front wheel has a quick release skewer, the fork jaws are 9mm wide. The motor axle is 10mm wide x 12mm deep. You will need to file off a little bit to drop the motorwheel in. I use a dremel for this but files will do the same job.

    Brake sensors necessary?

You should always fit the brake sensors, unless: if you have hydraulic brakes: you don't need brake sensors if you don't fit the throttle. If you have cable operated brakes: then you need to know (or wait until you have the kit working then check out) how fast acting the controller is...

Help! Advice on converting a tricycle

high quality trikes are expensive and heavy. You need at least a differential on the rear wheels to turn safely at any speed more than about 8mph. You need to limit also the top speed. You may also need a reversing function.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think the NHS can deal with 30,000 CV beds and 1,000 deaths a day. The lockdown would be then gradually lifted to keep the status quo until better treatments are found. My main concern is in a year, we'll end up with a million more citizens living with chronic fatigue, reduced lung and kidney...

there is some truth in it though. 1,000 CV deaths a day or the economy in lockdown? “There’s no exit plan at the moment because they don’t want to do anything without the boss’s say so. Not a huge amount is going on in these Cabinet meetings. “They are waiting for the public to change their...
