I think 2%-3% fatality rate is more likely. Corona viruses include the common cold. Covid19 is different. It kills 50 times more than flu because it does not trigger the mucosa immune system in a lot of people, BAME for instance.

    Electric bike vs. folder

she was commenting on the Woosh Rambla (she has only passing interest and I don't have any left right now, but still a constructive comment) that it does not have a full length chainguard. If I have had that comment a couple of weeks earlier, I could have added a couple of anchor points to the...

I don't know what you mean. Emily has the Gazelle Orange Innergy in the picture above which has a fully enclosed chain guard. She knows how to take it off and put it back. But it only works with a hub gear. She also has the Tern which has a full length chain guard. If she buys a bike with...

    Electric bike vs. folder

@Andy-Mat the Rambla has already got a chainguard, it's just that it's not a full sized chainguard. Ladies who wear long dresses will need the top chain to be covered. Something like this may work:

TSDZ2 hardtail MTB conversion picking the right budget bike

what size is the chainring? that's important. Some Voodoos have MTB cranksets with 38T chainring. They are not good for the TSDZ2 because the chainstays flare out too close to the bottom bracket, leaving insufficient space for the TSDZ2 gearbox casing.

    Migrant workers

we need them more. apparently, some farmer in Lincolnshire advertised for crop pickers. 52,000 replied. When they been told the nature of the jobs and pay, only 62 are willing to work. Either our farmers need to pay much more or our system needs to change. Leaving crops rotting in the field is...

I much prefer compulsory masks when we go inside shops, postoffices and public transports. Masks are better with than without.

if you put 50 people in the same train carriage - all wearing face masks. The viral load in the stale air is only 5% of what it would have been if masks were not compulsory. The other 95% stay within the spreaders masks. The benefit is not as good as self isolation but a lot better than the 2M rule.

firstly, the Pound tanked since social distancing was introduced. CV did not benefit the Pound. I paid for goods in USD. On average, I paid 5% more in Feb-Apr compared to Dec-Jan. if they open the drive in test centres to the public, ie charge those who want a test a fee like a flue jab, the spare capacity will be used up. I wonder why they wouldn't let the pharmacists do the swabs.

Matt Hancock is more worried about another supply problem than common sense. most (95%+) of the droplets produced by your breathing are caught in the fabric and the non-absorbent mesh layer in the middle. Masks should be disinfected and washed regularly.
