that happens with Cisco routers. Most of the internet is built with them. Cisco do not let anyone outside the company have a look inside their routers' OS. With Huawei, we have the source code, we can inspect, modify and run whatever we like from kernel level up, on their hardware.

    Decathlon rockrider est900

You need to check the chainring. This is because a crank drive kit would only fit a bike with at least 42T ring or larger. Your RockRider ST900 may have the small 32T ring. If it's the case, you won't be able to fit the BBS01 or TSDZ2 kits. They will foul against the right chainstay. If you go...

The Chinese offerings let you run your own software on their supplied hardware, that does not stop them embed spy stuff but they are more open compared to their competitors.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it's a bit like the origin of the universe, at the very beginning, there were only very small differences in density in the early universe. As the universe expands, these fifferences grow into hundreds of billion galaxies. You spend more, the banks will invent new ways to lend you more...

Advice wanted for DIY Welsh commuter (Trek FX conversion?)

yes, that's correct. You would have to spin very fast to go anywhere with that front to rear ratio.

    What should I get

I would recommend a higher torque motor, the 48V SWX02 (freewheel)/DWG22C (cassette) Both offer 30% more torque than the XF08C. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/cart/#/product/uid-188-swx02-48v12ah/bafang-swx02-48v-250w-rear-hub-kit-with-48v-12ah-battery The DWG222C has just arrived last Wednesday, I...

    What should I get

If you need to keep the weight low, the Aikema 85SXC: https://wooshbikes.co.uk/cart/#/product/uid-121-85sx-13ah/akm13085sx-rear-hub-kit-with-13ah-battery If you need more torque, the XF08C kit gives 5NM more torque...

    What should I get

Is the frame carbon fibre? if it is, you need to find a very lightweight water bottle sized battery. For the motor wheel, something like the Aikema 85SXC would work well.

I wrote the dimensions down somewhere... can't find them right now. From memory, something like 5.5cm in diameter, 52cm long. I'll get you the dimensions tomorrow. If you want to use the Faro battery, you also get the Faro seat tube controller. The Faro has a cut out hole near the bottom bracket...

the Faro has an inframe battery, it weighs less than 1.5kgs because its plastic case is very thin, about 3mm, and it is built with just 30 cells. Faro's battery: https://wooshbikes.co.uk/2019/faro/battery.jpg https://wooshbikes.co.uk/2020/faro/charging-port.jpg I suppose you could fabricate a...

Advice wanted for DIY Welsh commuter (Trek FX conversion?)

the Aikema is 1kg lighter, but gives 5NM less on steep hills. On flattish roads or small hills, you don't feel the difference. for your weight, I would recommend the 85SXC. I ride the Faro (85SX) for a year now and I weigh 12st. It feels just right.

The 250W is a legal requirement. It guarantees the minimum standard, that is your motor will maintain 15mph on a flat road without the casing temperature exceeds 25 degrees C. You only need 200W for this, so all EAPCs pass the test with ease. How your motor helps on hill is not prescribed, as...

    Bosch speed limit

it's not that straightforward, besides wearing always a helmet and staying off shared paths. We don't have s-pedelecs class in the UK, so your bike needs to be in a motorbike class. 1. You will need a number plate, so the bike needs to have a bracket for it. 2. You will need numberplate and...

quoted RPM is where the motor delivers the maximum power. eg: 201RPM: perfect for 700C wheels. 235RPM: perfect for 26" wheels 260RPM: perfect for 20" wheels 328RPM: perfect for 16" wheels No load RPM: is where the motor spins on throttle when lifted off the ground. Brexit, for once some facts.

I think the problem is in the expectation gap. We know we need about 70,000 additional fruit pickers in the summer, 100,000 shift workers in the hospitality sectors, 100,000 in the care sector. It's easy for politicians to say 'invest' - but there aren't machines capable of doing those jobs. I...
