their March is our September. In 3 months, they will have to lockdown like we do now.

possibly. I am an optimist though. We'll learn from this crisis.

we still may shutdown to protect the NHS. However, corona virus seems to behave like other viruses, it's seasonal. If the NHS can manage through April then we won't have to lockdown, May will be easier, June, July will be even easier, then it will get worse when summer is gone. Italy seems to...

the key difference is 33% of older people (60+ years old) are immune to H1N1. In addition, some antivirals did work: oseltamivir for example, which is now trialled against CORVID19. Corvid19 is lethal to about 1% of those confirmed cases, mostly against old people, leaving the other 99%, mostly...

I do follow them, none of what I said was contrary to their advice.

no, my comment on this virus is just a general comment, not specific for e-bikes other than the fact that e-biking is not competitive like biking as a sport, you don't have large group rides. I put the risks to oneself and to others into the correct perspective.

you wanted me to respond to this? if you want to help them, don't talk to them face to face, use the phone and wear gloves whenever you do their shopping. There isn't anything to gain in discontinuing with your leisure biking from now until the general lockdown is in place.

I hope not but it can happen before Christmas. Confirmed cases are expected to rise very quickly from November.

of course we may have to take that step at some time in the very near future but that is to protect the NHS from being overrun. It does not change the fact that about 1% of us may die of the disease (mostly this December) before a working vaccine is made available. We all have to face that risk...

not ridiculous, we still need food, power, security, healthcare etc. The whole country cannot just all self isolate. Most people (at least 80% of those who are working) will still need to work, out of them, the majority cannot work from home, such as care home workers. You should remember, 10%...

they can spread the virus to their family because they share the same bathroom, maybe towels, maybe food but not by standing next to you or just through breathing the same air in a room. As I said earlier, if it's that contagious (by just sharing air in the 2m radius for a few seconds)...

it's nowhere as mad as getting into buses and trains and yet, people have to do just that every day.

even that is relative. As I said, you need to take things in the context of balanced risks. Droplets can stay in the air for minutes. In completely still air, hours. However, in the open air, droplets disperse very quickly. Standing next to a guy inside a bus is much more risky than standing...

ebiker99, you need to remember that corona virus is transmitted through droplets. The spreader releases them through coughing, sneezing or talking at close proximity to you. You can also pick them up from dry surfaces such as tables and chairs (wet surfaces cause the virus to become unstable and...

infection is not transmitted at the speed of one cyclist passing/overtaking another. If it was the case, you wouldn't cross the street at the zebra crossing if there is another person on your side or on the other side.

you have to try to stay safe at least until June when the team at Imperial College London predicts a lull during the summer months.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

my flimsy mask was sent to me by my obliging Chinese factory sales manager has at least one advantage: it gives the impression of a mask but is in fact easy to breathe through.

I don't need a quick release on the rear wheel! but perhaps should offer Gaadi innertubes to avoid the hassle of removing the torque arms just to change the tube.
