if you go through with the expense of buying a new Hailong battery, consider getting also a hailong controller and LCD. Check with the supplier if they can program it to support the Bafang torque sensor bottom bracket. I think the output of the torque sensor is similar to 32 magnet PAS +...

Only with limited scope. An additional battery connected in parallel will extend the range and reduce voltage sag when climbing but the maximum current draw that has been set into the controller will remain same, it was set for a 5.6AH battery low enough not to damage the battery. Without...

the Tongsheng TSDZ2 is very good too, not much more money compared to a hub kit. The 36V TSDZ2 is very like the ALP, the 48V like the CX. You can also have a throttle with your TSDZ2 if you so wish.

there is no simple way to change thee way the Escent works. If you want to change the controller, you will need the 10A version of the controller Bafang made for it: https://www.bafang-e.com/en/oem-area/components/component/controller/cr-s104350sn/ Here is the torque sensor:

that''s the thing. Cummings and BJ don't get it. The young today will be old and weak later. We will not get to herd immunity until only 1 of 5 is left, those without immunity are no longer alive. Effective treatment will keep many of us alive but the right course of action is to eliminate the...

if you are in the market for an e-bike, you should use the reliability statistics of hub motor bikes made and sold by traders on this forum rather than the overall numbers. Wisper and Woosh have our own clinic sub-forums, it's easy to follow up reported issues with hub motors, how many, how...

the Germans have mobilised more resources. They can do 20,000 tests a day, we do 6,000-7,000 a day. Germany tests many more young people - they may be found positive but don't die from it. We test only suspect cases. However, we should concentrate on the growth rate of daily death count. That's...

people like Cummings misunderstand the subtlety in 'herd immunity'. If the herd become immune, then the virus is stopped. That's the case of thousands of known viruses that live happily inside you and me. CORVID19 is different. 4 out of 5 of us do not have immunity to it. That's why when 96 out...

there will always be a few fundamentalists like him on any big subject. CORVID19 is a much bigger subject than brexit. I like my 48V Tongsheng TSDZ2 with throttle. Best of both worlds and not very expensive either. You can pick up a brand new mid range hybrid, add a TSDZ2 kit with throttle - you get a brand new e-bike with decent performance for about £1,000 budget. enjoy the feel of a normal bike and not...

The TSDZ2 is not bad in this respect. You already got 5 preset torque curves which are in effect the assist levels. You can adjust the sensitivity of the torque sensor so fill in the gaps between the torque curves - it's of limited use though.

that is true for choosing between hub and crank motors. However, choosing an appropriate motor size is still important. The OP weighs 17st, he needs a medium to high torque range depending on how hilly his area is. That is a bike fitted with Bosch Active Line Plus/CX or one of my bikes fitted...
