it's octet, plural octets and also mega-octet(s). It's an SI unit, same word exists in English. We French use the correct SI units in common spoken language for added precision.

Your Bafang would do very well on a commuting bike, just a little more expensive.

Hub or Mid Drive? Any views?

maybe your rear hub motor was a direct drive, which is not suitable for commuting bikes. My Faro has the Aikema 13.0 rear hub motor which weighs 2kgs on its own and climbs hills well. The whole bike weighs only 17 kgs, with Maxxis Detonator 23x700 tyres, much more suitable for commuting.

if you want to settle in France, reading and writing skills in French are as important as for a Frenchman wanting to settle in the UK. My wife who is fairly fluent in Spanish encourages me to learn Spanish because we holiday often in Spain.

the support is. Since anti-dumping on Chinese e-bikes, I have to assemble my own bikes in Southend though.

If you are treated in a private facility (there are lots of private hospitals and doctors, most dental practices are private facilities). You pay first then may be able to claim some back from the UK. In France, google 'docteurs conventionnés' - google will list them locally for you. You pay...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

houses/flats in some areas are cheap for a reason. You wouldn't buy a flat in St Dennis, Paris would you? if you want a fair comparison, choose a place with the same housing and outgoing costs. Paris is hyper expensive though.

we are much more capitalistic and ego-centric than the continentals. They'll get there faster without than with us, even with Albania to replace us.

Brompton conversion... would this Whoosh kit work?

it does not matter. It does not affect the torque when riding uphill. There is no throttle with my kit for the Brompton, you can only ride as fast as you can pedal. On a flat road, the original chainring would let you pedal up to about 17-18mph if derestricted, perfect for the Q70 motor.

Brompton conversion... would this Whoosh kit work?

there is really no need. You are a force for good. But please see from the point of view of the suppliers. Would you like to see someone advising a customers of yours overvolting or increasing the current or derestrict your kit? Even if the suppliers is mine from China. Everytime I ask them to...

from what I see in Southend, I'd put the number of rough sleepers in the region of 10,000-25,000. Most ask you for your change and they just sleep where they work.

for the next leader of the opposition: it seems that the tories fear some bright young(ish) spark from the middle of the spectrum most.

we have zillions of cars on our roads. If roads have the same number of cars like rails with trains then we wouldn't have so much congestion on our roads. in another generation, driverless car will be a reality, we should be able to double the density of traffic on our roads, then in the...

Brompton conversion... would this Whoosh kit work?

even if the supplier's last name is Mr Royce, it does not change the fact that a responsible supplier tries his hardest to make the product as reliable as possible so that his customer can have full confidence that his bike is not going to pack up in a cold and wet evening. You are a good soul...

Brompton conversion... would this Whoosh kit work?

there's really no need for dramatic. We're friends. Put yourself in the place of the supplier of the kit which you advised overvolting or increase current. If it goes pear shaped, would you pay for another kit out of your pocket?

I did underline the 19mph from your post, but seriously, there is space for posting about higher speed on this forum. We should stick to the rules. I have to, so why don't you?

I am not talking about how fast your bike can go, but I'd like to see any post regarding riding faster than speed limit to be posted in the appropriate section, speed pedelecs, of the forum. There is no high horse, just respect for the administrators and readers.

BREXIT the silver lining or lead cosh?

I am not too worried about the exchange rate. Us leaving the EU will help Woosh out in a big way. I am fed up with ebay and amazon sellers shipping in kits from the EU27 without charging VAT. Unfair competition. After 1 Jan 2021, the UK won't be in the common VAT area anymore, those shipments...
