    Troubleshooting dead battery?

Some of these chargers pulse a higher voltage and switch off when they reach the designated voltage. The battery will dampen the pulses to an average, so it's not a problem, but you should monitor the charging to make sure it doesn’t go over, just in case.

    Advice for 20" hubs.

There isn't realy any extra stress because the motor is in the back wheel. The rear triangle will easily be strong enough and the torque from the motor only reduces the stress on the folding mechanism. I thought you'd have figured that out.

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Thats the wrong cassette removal tool. You need a freewheel removal tool. Any freewheel tool will get the one off your old wheel, but once you put it on the motor, it most likely won't get it off again. You need an ebike one for that, which aren't so easy to find. It just needs a hole big enough...

Yes, get it from Halfords about £10. You need to measure the length of your present one after you disassemble it, then get one the same length or next size up.

    Troubleshooting dead battery?

Looks like it'll get the low cells up to 3.6v, which is a start, but you need to get the battery completely balanced before you can get any range out of it. Once you have the low cells at 3.6v, it will accept charging, but only until one of the high cells reaches 4.2V. After that, you have to...

Help! Bafang 36v hub motor for fat bike.

These codes and winding speeds are a bit of a mystery because there doesn't seem to be any consistency. Normally, the code would be the number of turns of wire on each pole, so all code 10s would turn at the same speed when at the same voltage. Many other motors use that convention. With the...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

I've converted a few bikes like that. I can't see any problem and I don’t think their price has any bearing on it. If I'm honest, I'd prefer better brakes, but that can always be sorted later. Decent pads would probably make a difference. Some rack batteries come with the rack, which will...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Q100 used to have an easy peal label, but now they seem to use genuine Aikema motors, which are engraved, but I don't think the power is marked

Help! Bafang 36v hub motor for fat bike.

Code 10 is the winding speed. If it's the same as the convention for the Bafang BPM, its 310 rpm, which is around 22 mph for a conventional 26" wheel. Increasing the voltage increases the motor speed and decreases the efficiency at low RPM. It also causes your controller to run at maximum power...

Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 vs Giant Fathom E+ 2

Bosch will be easier to get fixed when it's out of warranty, so for me the Cube wins.

What's a strip under the BB? Is it a cable guide? Please show a photo. OK, I can see now. Why didn't you switch the light on to take your photos? The Swytch kit is not that good tegarding handling. You can feel the weight acting like a pendelum. Any normal rear hub motor kit should work. I...

Newbie asking for help for diy conversion

    1. Yes 2. You'll have to do something with the battery connector, either solder the wires or solder on one or two conectors. 3. 40 to 80 miles depending on how hard you pedal. 4. Don't bother. You won't need it with a 750W motor. 5. Normally 5 or 6 hours, but it depends on the charger. You have...

    Tyre pressure

It's not that critical. Pump up until it becomes hard to pump, then pinch the tyre with your fingers to see what it feels like, and remember the feeling. Every month or so, pinch the tyre again to see whether it feels the same. If it feels squishy, pump it up again.

Eligible Electric Bike Manufacturers and Suppliers Should Have 8 Features

There's no point in hating this bike. It does have a lot of nice features that many people, including me, would find appealing. I didn't see anything unique or anything that I've not see before on another bike. I think there is a market for this sort of thing for park-and-ride, motorhomes...

You don't need to buy the tool. Two strips of metal with a 5.5mm hole in one end will do the job.

    £2500 for a mtb

Dean, can you answer this for me, then perhaps I can help you? I've got £30 and want to go out for a meal tonight. Which food should I go for? I'm not particularly hungry at the moment, but I do like to eat. Should I wait til later in the evening when I'll definitely be hungrier, or should I go...
