    SRAM eMTB specific drivetrain launched

Yes. A 7-8 speed cassette with wider, equal gear spacing is of more use on an e-bike than a 10 speed cassette designed for human pedal power alone. Tyres, yes for s-pedelecs, ordinary bike tyres won't take nicely to being used to climb hills at 45 km/h on a regular basis. For normal pedelecs no.

Has anyone tried to register an S-class in the UK?

You can buy s-pedelec insurance from any company in the EU: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/financial-products-and-services/insurance-products/index_en.htm So any insurance company in Germany, the Netherlands or Austria will know what your bike is and be able to offer you a...

    Greenway Cross City

It always is set by the LCD, the magnet can go where you want on the spoke because it is only counting number of revolutions per minute. That is why speed/distance is always off with these cheap units where you can't set the exact tyre diameter.

Genuine Shimano 11-34 Tooth Freewheel Hyperglide-C MegaRange 7 Speed Gear Set

My project has moved on a bit, I think I will be sticking with the 14-34 on that hub motor which may now be going into a folder. I don't think I will mind the bike spinning out at 30 km/h in top gear on those tiny little 20" wheels :D I was initially thinking of putting the 26" wheel in a trike...

    How to secure your e-bike

Maybe it is cast iron? Equivalent to a ground anchor. Mine is attached to a (thick) wooden stair post. If someone saws through to nick my bike it is ample enough to justify the insurance company paying out - noise would be heard in the whole building, time taken to saw through...

    Plug-in Motorcycle grant

I looked at the Zero when I had better employment possibilities. I could see it being a lifelong investment at my age. I need however about 250 km range on the open road and it falls just short for the moment. The new French e-bonus for 2017 is here: 200 € for a pedelec (or 20% of value see...

    New C5

It isn't, too much frontal area. Much better to bite the bullet and get a real vélomobile which without motor will leave this in the dust. And as an optional extra not be prone to being blown over by cross winds, a.k.a lorries and busses...

    Considering a recumbent conversion.

My personal choice would be the folding Gekko fx26 trike with a mid-drive on the front  if I needed to keep one in house. It has skate wheels on the frame so that you can drag it or push it through any 60 cm wide opening, a standard door is 72 cm... It is going to weigh about 20 kg...

Using 4 Milwaukee 9ah (162wh) Batteries to power Ebike?

Yes I would parallel 2 then series the pairs for a 36 V 18 Ah battery. Me on my bike would get about 96 km range tops from that setup. You will get different range because your riding style and bike are different.

    Battery cables and On/Off switch

I bet they may do but the black nylon hides the spark whereas it is visible in the yellow ones. There is a spark free XT90 on the market that has a resistor in it, I think the XT60 may be too small to put one in. Mine only started sparking when I installed my lights which are always on (no...
