Agreed. In fact if we Hard Brexit there will be a decline in cross channel goods transfer so gradually becoming less ferries than at present. .

I've just given some examples of the ways the UK does not comply despite agreeing by default. Each EU measure is accompanied by a notice period to ask for variance. Not asking within the specified period automatically means acceptance, and that is what the UK usually does. But they often...

KTM motorcycles and bicycles are two separate companies and that motorcycle dealer wouldn't handle anything on the bicycle side. KTM bicycles are handled in the UK by FLIdistribution who are pedelecs.co.uk members and you'd need to contact them for advice on dealers etc. .

This reply has no relevance to my post about who was to blame for the quoted instances. And the UK is also guilty of not adopting legislation. For examples, a whole raft of EU measures applicable to Northern Ireland going back decades, and in the remainder of the UK in addition the two and...

And then refused to put it into law until the EU adopted it and made it mandatory! And how does this fit with Leavers claiming we have no influence in the EU when we have written laws which they adopt unchanged? Both these statements expose who the villains are, it's the UK and its deceitful...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, I'd heard all this information before it was posted here. But it still could be a shell to cover any continental company shipping between any two ports, Ramsgate just being a nominal company base. Those continentals, the Dutch especially, already have ships. In addition to the two...

It may be a deliberate cover job. Apparently the government were anxious that continental firms didn't win bids for these contracts and be seen to be benefitting from Brexit. Yet their capacity could be needed. So what this non-company could be is a shield under which the continentals...

If we want to leave with benefits such as continuing to trade with the EU on favourable terms, May's deal is as good as it can get so strictly speaking it's not a bad deal yet. We will only be able to fairly judge it when the next phase of the trade talks is completed, when the whole package...

    Sunstar SO3 opinions

I only knew the 24 volt one, the later option of 36 volt batteries would have increased the motor revs by 50% which if the bike was suitably geared down to the same speed would give more power. Its motor is quite small though, so will have some limitations. I'd still be very hesitant about...

Trouble is we don't know who voted or even what they voted, so we'd need them to self declare. Since the great majority wouldn't want to go to the sub-antartic Falklands, something like 97% would suddenly declare themselves Remainers! And I have to question "no risk of illegal immigration"...

    Sunstar SO3 opinions

All three versions, SO1, SO2 and SO3 have been rather low powered, rather like the original Panasonic motor but very much noisier despite both using steel gears. As a result they were never popular, leading to them stopping production. I don't think the SO3 is at all suitable for your load...

No, British was not wrongly used, it was the British Empire I referred to and all four nations were involved to varying degrees in its creation and were members. .

Advice for disabled rider on steep climbs - realistic?

At that moderate gradient he'd be better off with a powerful throttle controlled hub motor geared on the low side for 15 mph unrestricted and good low speed torque. BPM or CST would be ok, but couldn't handle the steepest hills around 20% + without pedal assistance. .

I benefitted from that too. With 99 of us in my section of an estate we bought our leaseholds and formed our own management company run by ourselves, converting all the leases from 99 years to 999 years, consolidating the property values. .

Brompton Electric Bike... Made by Brompton

Yes, the front drive on trikes is a bigger problem, more weight to pull but little of it on the front wheel. It should be ok on dry tarmac though. Having a front basket and putting the shopping in that helps when returning from a supermarket trip. .

Brompton Electric Bike... Made by Brompton

I'm also a rear hub motor fan, but for normal road use front hubs aren't a problem in the most common wheels sizes. But in smaller wheels the higher torque can lead to wheelspin in some wet or greasy circumstances. And of course offroad on loose surfaces front hub motors can spin wheels...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Here I have to disagree, no other country's government in the EU wants to leave the union, and nor did ours when Cameron had his moment of stupidity. And at population level none of the other countries have a majority wishing to leave. That is a peculiarly British thing, a left over from the...

True, but the track record was based on their using muscle. This time they've used brains instead. So this time it's based on the world's strongest economy which also meets all carbon targets, which is a pretty good foundation. P.S. Crossed with Woosh's post. .
