Some batteries have a rubber/butyl grommet that the fuse may be concealed behind , otherwise as you have said they are otherwise internal so would mean opening the battery and or charger for the charge side.

The Yose hub is quite good sadly 48v ones are thin on the ground, a better hub imv is the 48v Akiema 128C from BMSB. They are a bit lighter and smaller then the Bafang/8fun bpm/cst.

Battery fuses, 5a is for the charge line or even in the charger & 30a is a battery discharge fuse.

Usually a battery fuse goes between source and switch, it place early in the wiring is to protect other parts from damage. The charge fuse isn't generally needed as the mains plug is fused.

It means the battery has software a bit like Bosch etc,etc that communicates (handshakes) with the charger, bikes controller and possibly the display, if this handshaking doesn't occur the bike doesn't work and the battery will not charge. Other wise known as a closed system.
