    Brexit, for once some facts.

Wrong again, most of the money going to the likes of Greece has been repayable loans. Much smaller amounts go as grants to disadvantaged regions, like West Wales for example, badly neglected by the UK government you seem to have so much faith in. That UK government prefers to stay in power by...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I live in England, so it's the good that the EU have done for us that counts for me. That the Greek and Spanish national governments have squandered their opportunities is their business and not the fault of the EU. EU membership is an opportunity, not a source of internal government. Each...

Come back five years after we've left and post the unemployment and government fiscal positions then, when we'll have proof of what life is like on the outside. .

. Exactly, doing well while we are still in the EU, just as we've been for the 44 years since we joined. Thank you for your pro Remain support. .

None of which justifies wrecking the UK economy by leaving the EU. It seems to be all about your feelings and hearsay. .

Stuff all the polls. Just give us the vote on the Brexit terms eventually reached and then we'll all know the truth. That referendum I will accept, the last one I didn't due to its obvious serious flaws. .

It does mean they can be competent, since they passed the test. There is no compulsory test of that possibility for cyclists. The comparison of car drivers and driving with cyclists and cycling is always ridiculous. A car driver is tested for competence and licenced, the car registered and...

And could win him the next GE. All it needs is for the Tories to slip up, and their banana skin in waiting is the Brexit terms. .

No so, Labour have a history of this. Famously Ken Livingstone stood as a Independent for the GLC and instantly changed to Labour on being elected and was just as instantly appointed their GLC leader, much to Tory disgust. Our democracy allows such post electoral changes of allegiance. Never...

going over the 15.5 cut off point

Probably not how and where the accidents occur though? The three deaths I mentioned were all in London and with normal unpowered bikes. Our 15 mph pedelecs don't seem to be killing anyone at present, thank goodness. On this whole assist speed issue I'd repeat the well known mantra, if it...

Considering how Ed shafted him, he could stand as an independent in Ed's Doncaster North constituency. :) .

The numbers don't count though, the publicity does. Just look at the huge publicity given to Charlie Alliston's single brake case, and there was also considerable adverse publicity over the death of the man crossing the road that I mentioned. Most of the other 1697 or so deaths didn't get a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

But they chose Remainer Theresa May, so if she called a general election with her current majority Remainer MPs, they would be a Remainer government on offer. And they'd win. Or very much better, David Miliband. (Yes, as I keep pointing out to posters, there's one L in Miliband) .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think the majority of Tory MPs are Remainers, in which case there is a remainer government. Even Theresa May is a Remainer, just implementing the referendum outcome. .

And of course death. Those in favour of increasing assist speed to 20 mph are perhaps not considering the deaths caused by cyclists at that speed. A few months ago a woman was killed by a 20 mph cyclist, the case gaining notoriety because the bike had only one brake. Not long before that a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Sorry, not sensible, expedient. The only sensible solution is for parliament to resume charge of what is in their sole domain, by cancelling withdrawal from the EU. Then, as a majority Remainer government, if they still wish to put it to the public, do it correctly this time by a general...

    HaHa it actually happened......Cheat !!!!!!

Not when dishonesty is involved, that being the definition of cheating. Then it actually is cheating, e.g cheating in exams. Someone cycling a legal pedelec cannot be cheating since there is no dishonesty involved in doing that, even on a so-called stealth e-bike. But I take your point that...

No, the road usage behaviour has been tested. The pedelec rider hasn't been tested in any way. And I don't think that applies here in the UK either, CBT being necessary. .

There is no error. The car driver is tested for competence, the pedelec rider isn't. .

    band brake

You can reuse it just by adding a 36 volt lithium battery, but it will need to have a high discharge capability since that Powabyke motor can give up to 600 watts maximum power, the controller delivering up to 20 amps. But the motor is a brushed one and old, so could fail, leaving you stuck...
